Lone Wolf Development Response Time...?

Postby overseeker » Fri Jun 24, 2011 10:57 am

I sent an email to support@wolflair.com yesterday and have yet to receive a response. I was just wondering what the typical turnaround time is. Thanks!

2-3 business days. Less if it's a license reassignment question. Don't forget to check your spam filters because it's far and away their most common cause of people not getting a response. Out of curiosity, what's your situation?

Thanks for the quick reply! I was actually looking at purchasing a used version of their product from someone but was informed that the activation code had already been used. I didn't know if there would be any point in me even bothering with it. I just recently downloaded their demo and loved the Mutants & Masterminds 3rd edition interface which is what I'm interested in. I know that I can also purchase the retail version for $19.99 from Troll and Toad. Not that I really require the retail box or anything but it is still $10.00 cheaper then activating it through them. Please share your thoughts on this matter when you have time and have a great day!

Ah. A used copy would indeed be useless due to the authentication method unless the prior owner planned on transferring their account to you (unlikely since it's partly tied to one's credit card information for online purchasing). I haven't used the retail version, but I'm pretty sure that it works pretty smoothly. You activate it, choose your free gaming system, and set up your account all at the same time. Posting to The Hero Lab section of the Lone Wolf forums might get you an answer from someone with more experience. The one mention I found was that some of the retail copies are older ones when only d20 OGL was supported which necessitates downloading the recommended update prior to selecting your game system.

^_^ Best of luck!

Thanks again! I will definitely pass on the used copy and may eventually order one from Troll & Toad.

I'm curious. Did you get a response back? And did you pick up the Troll and Toad copy? If so, how is it working out for you? (Assuming you have it in hand... delivery times varying and all that)

Yes, they did respond and confirmed the sound advice that you had already giving me. I have yet to pick this program up. I just purchased the 3rd Edition Handbook and want way more than I can afford right now so I'm trying to decide which way to go next. Thanks again!

To tide you over, there are at least two Excel-based character sheets available in the resource thread. They do a bit less math for you, but they still keep track of costs of attributes, etc.
