Mutant: Ginger is a mutant and shows up as such on Mutant scanners and the like, She Also has a pair of Fuzzy Panda ears on the upper side instead of normal human ears.
Guilt: Ginger Still feels some guilt for the death of Alberta the woman form the orphanage, she knows it wasnt her fault but it still sometimes haunts her. She also feels some guilt for the death of mongoose who in his own way did love her genuinely.
Enemy: Shadow, Shadow hasnt forgtten or forgiven her for her desertion nor her attacks on their operations. They seek ways to destroy or bring her back into the fold.
Socially Awkard: Having spent your formative years learning to be a meta-human assassin and not having a real childhood can make for some itneresting social dynamics, Panda has made a few friends amongst the Next Gen but those are few and far between.

Ginger Bosworth is an exmaple of how circumstances could make one a monster. Born with small back fuzzy panda ears on her head, some parents might have found them cute if unusal. But Gingers parents were terrified and being die hard conservatives disowned their ""Freak Daughter abomiantion of god!". Raised in an Orphanage Life for little Ginger was even worse. The children were cruel, and though the staff did their best Ginger became reclusive and withdrawn. Things continued like this even as Ginger discovered that she was stronger and faster and Infintely more agile then the other children, she also did not fear the dark like they did, it seemed to sing and whisper to her. The shadows comforted her and she took to hiding in them when the other kids would come around.
As it happened one day, she was playing outside after Sister Alberta who was the kindest and most caring of the staff to her managed to convince her to come outside and play. Stepping away for a moment to buy Ginger an ice cream cone as a reward Alberta didnt see some of the other children approach Ginger and begin to taunt her unmercifully calling her a freak and worse. Finally one of the girls turned physical and threw a rock at Ginger striking her in the head. when Ginger saw the blood and saw the children reach for her she screamed and lashed out with a wave of energy that struck down her tormentors and healed her wounds.
Seeinga shocked Alberta standing there, Ginger was terrified at what shed done and fled with an amazing leap that carried her clear of the courtyard and over a building. For 3 days a terrified Ginger hid in an abandonded building before she was grabbed by agents of Shadow. The agents told her that the police were looking for her as a murderer (A lie), and she could never return. But they would take care of her, they would teach her to become the one to be feared, and to get back at those who tormented her and abandoned her. Having no other choice and seemingly no where to go Ginger agreed.
The agents trained her to be an Assassin and infiltrator, learning how to spy and the martial arts, and she excelled at the lessons learning quickly the extent of her powers. She was fast, Agile, and could wrap a dark energy around her that protected her, and hid her, she could channel energy into blasts of darkness, and terrify someone with a horrific gaze, which she used when one of the agents tried unsuccessful to have his way with her.
During her training Ginger became romantically involved with a fellow trainee, code named mongoose. The fast moving clawed fighter had an energy she enjoyed and the two became friends. However things were not as they seemed secretly Mongoose was pushing her to become more like him more dangerous and vicious.
Finally she was deemed ready and sent to Assassinate her first target. Foreshadow seemingly never saw her coming and she quickly had him on the ropes only for Him to suddenly turn the tables on her. When He finally managed to subdue her he epxlained that he knew she was coming and was willing to help her. Then he did something she could never have seen coming. He brought in Alberta, the lady from the orphanage. Though she hadnt seen her in several years Panda as she was now known recognized her immediately. The emotional and touching reunion sparked something in Panda and she quickly broke down At this time Monhoose who has been watching intervened and killed Alberta before Foreshadow could act. Panda was enraged and attacked Mongoose with an unmatched fury. Though they were evenly matched and she was wounded Panda quickly gained the upper hand. Mongoose tried while she was fighting him to convince her that no one but him could understand her, but she refused to listen and finally she landed a fatal blow when mongoose tried to stab her when her back was turned.
Grief striken at what shed done and what shed become Panda begged foreshadow for help, she was confused scared and now had no where to go because shed failed her assignment and killed a fellow agent.
Foreshadow quickly helped her rally her spirits and after a brief time training with her to help her regain her self confidence which had been badly shaken by the incedent She took to the streets with a new leash on life, and the goal of fighting for those who couldnt fight for themselves. She also takes a great deal of pleasure in disrupting and destroying the plans of Shadow whereever she can.
Personality: Ginger is a conflcited and sometimes angry young woman who hides a deep hhurt behidn a smart alec and daredevil persona. She doesnt have a deathwish or an adenaline addiction or anything but she pretends like she does to throw people off. It takes a rare and persistent person to see past that shell and to the young hurt girl within. Ginger is a bit shy and awkward around strangers, but oddly enough this manifests itself in a loud and vivacious personality instead of withdrawing she trys too hard to make friends. Her social skills are a bit lacking given that her formative years were spent training as a metahuman assassin.
Powers and Tactics: Ginger is a mutant with a possible connection to the Shattenwaldt. She can channel a Shadow/Negative energy in a number of fashions. She can wrap it around her self like a protective cloak that makes her hard to see and hit and blunts the worst of an attack, Or she can project a field of shadow that renders her all but invisible, Attacking cancels this effect but if she doesnt she can go unseen by even the sharpest eyes.
She can also project her Shadow energy in several ways, she can drain a small bit of life from someone and release that energy in an burst of healing darkness flows from her in a wave, or she can project a blast of cold dark energy, or project it in a vicious strike that drains energy from her target and heals her, she can even channel ehr energy in a fashion she calls her Shadow Maul, a rapid fire series of strikes that overhwlems an opponent. She can also project her gaze on someone and paralyze them with their greatest fear. She can also channel the shadow energy in an unknown fashion through her legs, by doing this she gains the ability to leap tremendous distances and land with no problems, used in conjunction with her superhuman agility she can turn herself into an increidbly difficult target to hit.
Panda has been trained to be an Assassin and infiltrator by Shadow, she is a skileld hand to hand fighter and has a number of skills that help her with infiltration and espionage. She is a beyond Olympic level gymnast with an amazing sense of balance and lamost no vertigo or sway, she can literaly walk on eggshells or rice paper or a squeaky wooden floor and not make a sound.
Appearance: A beautiful young woman about 22 years of age with long mid back length aburn red hair, and soft blue eyes that seem to glow in the dark. Panda is tall and lean with a gymnastic dancers build. She is stronger then she looks, and often surprises people. She moves with a lithe grace and seems to not make a sound when she walks. The only part of her appearance that some people may find uncomfotrtable are the two round black fuzzy panda ears on her head in place of normal human ears. The ears are real and functional, and while shes not as self concious about them as she once was, she will take to wearing a Newsboy cap to disguise them.
A submisison for TMs street level FC campaign. Panda was a bear --hehe pun-- to fit into 130pp and retain her flavor at pl 8. Stilll I did it and think shes solid. Shes abit of a glass cannon but shoudl be agile enough to avoid most problems.
Future experience will go to toughening her up a little fortitud wise, and rounding out her skills and feats, as well as expanding the amount of powers she can do, new tricks like tar patch, Tenebrous tentacles, and midnight grasp among others.
Panda is my lvl 50 Dark Dark Dark Defender in City of Heroes and one fo my all time faves to play. I may at some future date make her closer to her game form in PL and points.
