Comments: As noted in the Snake-Eyes posting, Storm Shadow has been shown to be just a tad less bad-ass than the silent one, so he gets a solid PL10 noting that he is close to a peak human combatant, but not as good as Snake-Eyes generally. It doesn’t take much to push a fight in his favor, though, and most fights with them should be a toss up.

I totally agree with that ranking. Especially since the sword is what pushes him up that high in offense. His unarmed in less than that of your Nightwing and Daredevil, but higher than Electra's and that feels right. He's obviously better than Storm Shadow.

But what about Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa? If I might be so bold.

Snake-Eyes' '80s comic book version may be the most elite one ever- there, he's practically a PL X God of War who can sodomize virtually entire armies simultaneously. Guy maybe has one concrete loss once he becomes a ninja, and it's against an entire barrage of Cobra heavy weapons fire (from far away, of course- no one is fool enough to take on Snake-Eyes up close), and even THEN he's only unconscious. No PL for him is too high- even my own PL 10 version was holding him back :).

The other Joe characters are a ways lesser than him. Poor Scarlett once got owned by mere Cobra Mooks (and The Baroness hitting a coup de grace, knocking her into a coma), Stalker got shot & injured once (forcing Snake-Eyes to take over the mission), and Storm Shadow lost to Snake-Eyes & Roadblock at different times.

I have Ninja Gaiden 2 that I got for about $7 used but I have only played about 30 minutes of it. I don't have enough info on him to make a judgment, although I have seen enough to know that he kicks major arse. However, I have some other video game ninjas that I am working on to throw into the mix.

Using the first Ninja Gaiden as a measuring stick, I'd say that Ryu is PL 2, and every enemy he's ever fought is PL 16. That game is freaking HARD.

Gotta do Scarlet now, you did Snakes and Stormy Scarlets like the third in that triumverate =^_^=

not as lethal as the two but infintiely mroe versatile and skilled.

Well, while the old games may make Hayabusa seem incompetent (they were ridiculously hard), the more recent Ninja Gaiden games turn him into quite the badass.

My favorite from him is still this one, though: Hayabusa's Dead or Alive 4 ending (called "super ninja" for good reason)

Yes. This.

I have the original Ninja Gaiden for the NES and the new original Ninja Gaiden for the X-box and while I did eventually beat both of them, getting there involved a lot of cursing and vowing my revenge on Team Ninja.

I can certainly fill both of those orders, but I am too depressed to stock the shelves tonight. First, The Cardinals mess up the Pujols thing BIG TIME (I am fine with him signing in LA, but they should have traded him or gotten the deal done 2-3 years ago for less) and then my Lakers got shafted by the league when they blocked their trade for Chris Paul. Horrible sports day for me... :(

Comments: So I was trying to think of more ninjas to put into my latest run and when I was looking up fictional ninjas, I saw Sub Zero listed and I knew I had to whip him up. I only played the original Mortal Kombat a few times, mainly because my godson would mangle me all the time and he always wanted to be Sub-Zero. So I began to HATE Sub-Zero, but eventually I got decent with Liu Kang and held my own. Sometimes anyway…

But then he got the Sub Zero solo game (which kinda sucked) but we had a lot of fun playing it because he LOVED it (he was like 7 or so then) so now I have a soft spot for Sub Zero especially since a couple of weeks ago I met him at his college to celebrate his 21st and I felt like singing Cats in The Cradle over and over. Could have been nostalgia. Could have been the 10th shot. Anyway, here is Sub-Zero.

I was having a hard time determining what PL I wanted the MK characters to be in the Thorpacoverse. On one hand, they do some pretty powerful stuff and in MK vs. DC, they hang with the big boys of the DCU. On the other hand, depending on who’s playing them, they can also be quite inaccurate and you can see them easily being defeated by a lower level comic character. So I went with PL9 for most of them, PL10-11 for bosses like Goro. As usual, I reserve the right to change my mind later. I didn’t want them individually to be a real threat to a DCA level Batman, but certainly enough to where if 2-3 of them ganged up on him, he’d have a good fight on his hands.

I was a bit surprised (pleasantly so) to see a Sub-Zero build from you Thorp! He was always my favorite in the Mortal Kombat games, while my cousin's (the main person I played MK with) was Scorpion so we always had cool fights. 8)

I think PL9 is a safe bet for Sub-Zero and most of the MK gang, of course by all rights you could go anywhere from PL6 to PL12 with some of the power feats they've shown.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

All their biggest Power Feats (like, say, tearing out someone's spine with their head still attached) are basically "coup de grace" moments to me- you basically get a free hit to do whatever you want :). And unlike the video games, in M&M you don't have to have your hero jerk around randomly and accidentally just Low Kick the guy unconscious because you missed the damn button!

I guess you could handle "Turning Into an Animal and Eating the Guy" and "Create Object of Friendship" the same way, by spending HPs :D.
