Why do you think Maud is so keen on getting Adriene as a permanent employee instead of a sometime ally and why she gets along so well with Sarah? Adriene might be a hero... But she's not a nice hero. I can also see her getting along with Dresden for that matter.

Meanwhile, on board a private jet on the way to England.....

Carlos takes a sip of his fine Irish whiskey.

"So Huang, what exactly are we looking to find in England? Will we run into any people like the team did in New York? We should be prepared for that eventuality."

The girl leaned back and grinned at Sarah. "Well, that takes care of a few things. By the time we meet up with the Council, I have a feeling the Red Court is going to be up to their necks in legal troubles. Even if we do loose, they will loose even more in the long run and hopefully, they'll be distracted enough to give us a serious edge on them." she grinned wolfishly. "They really ought to know better than to irritate a Cranston..."

"We may not even need do more then show up to have them eating out of our hands instead of ripping out our throats." I offered a smidge smugly. "The likelyhood of the need to "Strike a deal" may outweigh any need for retribution. A deal in which we profit by it all the better."

Huang drinks his water during the trip and responds to Carlos' second question first, "I always expect to run into trouble, which is why I am always armed. I have been able to ascertain the combat abilities of the other members of the group, but yours are still unknown to me. In a combat, will you be an active combatant or a supporting member? I was brought up fighting in all kinds of situations and against all manner of opponents, in vast numbers or solo combat, so my question is simply, 'am I going to have to protect you, or will you have my back?' Either answer is fine, as I know other skill sets are equally as important as combat."

After giving Carlos a chance to boast of his own combat experience Huang responds to the first question, "I believe our next target from the lymric is the "Robe of mystic night". We have little to go on except the greatest potential location is Witchend, north of London. In keeping with our keeping a low profile, I suggest we go there as a wealthy traveling couple and their manservant/bodyguard. Yourself and Ms. Jenny will play the part of the couple while I would play the role of your manservant. I think this may be best because I have... issues... with lying. To be frank, I am horrible at it. I can convince Eskimos to buy refrigerators in the winter on a good day, but outright lying just makes me terribly uncomfortable and it is very obvious I am lying. This would also allow me to largely go unnoticed and I can sneak around as needed to investigate clues. I am quite good at hiding in full view." Huang adds this last bit with a smirk, as if remembering a number of occasions.

Huang takes a moment and then adds, "Just as an idea, perhaps you two, as a couple, had heard of legends of a mystic cloak of invisibility, like the one in the Harry Potter novels, and are in the area looking up on it and catching the sights while you are at it. That might be plausible enough for people to believe, isn't very suspicious if you seem more curious than cautious, and would disguise our searching for something which might very well be exactly what we say we are looking for. According to Holmes' information that area is very well-kept, and, coupled with the name, leads me to believe there are probably strong magical forces at work there. As such, we will need to be careful for the unexpected."

Huang finishes his drink before adding in, "Damn good water. Perrier?"

M Moreau

M felt quite out of her element in the realm of supernatural politics. She had never quite felt at home with the artificial structures humans seemed so intent on forcing into being and the addition of the utterly unscientific nature of the Fae had not eased matters. Her most recent attempt at splicing the troll's genetic qualities into her own had been perhaps overly presumptuous and she had felt sick for some time after. It had taken her a distressing amount of time to realize the metal impurities in her jewelry were reacting badly to the iron-allergic regenerative factor. The additional problems of heightened systemic repair had left the doctor feeling quite under the weather and content to merely observe her far more capable comrades engaging their resources.

This was pack behavior and still felt strange to M. Finally, something Holmes said led her to react with a sly smile, "Throat ripping would be unfortunate. I fear I might develop a taste for it. Hopefully they see reason. Wonder how fae consider genetic composition as an artificial construct of race. Dresden is a human, not faerie descendant, yes?"

Ooc was human once not sure now as hes the Winter Knight so i think he is considered Fae, plus i think he mother was part Fae to start with so on some level he might have been part Fae as well before becoming the Winter Knight.

"Harry is..." i paused looking to Jon for help where she was lounging like some great Panther, all resting power like a coiled spring ready to burst into action at a moments notice.

"Unique." she responded helpfully,

"Unique indeed." I agreed. "Still hes more then human, all too human in fact, which in this case is our advantage."

"He's also not one to be used lightly by anyone. Not even Queen Mab. any chance we can give him to get a leg up on the court will not go unused or unappreicated."

"I can certainly appreciate that," Adriene said dryly, while she heard Sarah chuckle in outright amusement behind her, no doubt remembering Maub's first attempt to coerce her into becoming a flunky. Unlike many other first meetings (after the necessary violence upon the messengers who attempted to strong arm her), the relationship actually improved.

Carlos considers Huang's question for a moment before answering.

"I'm decent with a gun, knife, and in a fist fight. In my profession, you never know who is going to oppose your efforts to recover lost treasures."

OOC: Since Ripleycat is AWOL, I suggest NPCing her as Carlos' wife until she returns.

Huang sits for the remainder of the trip listening to Carlos's stories. "He certainly does have many," Huang thinks to himself. Upon landing, Huang goes to customs to check in as is required, and presents his passport to the authorities, waiting to see if he's still on the state doo-doo list.
