This is after the second Terminus invasion the Claremont Academy was a major battle site alot of the metahuman students were injured or killed defending the school and teachers. The invasion was stopped but not without cost to lives and property.

Re: Creative Writing, the problem will be that homework is really tough for her, at least in her incorporeal state, pencils are tough to move, and computers often glitch when she touches them.
Oh, I know you only said two electives for Misty.... but she doesn't sleep.
