WOW. I had forgotten about that crappy show that I loved as a kid. Might be interesting...

I will get around to some wrestlers eventually. My 7-year-old has decided that we need to go Miami for Wrestlemania so he can see The Rock vs. John Cena, so apparently I'm going to have to pick up a second job, which won't leave me much time for building...

And remember, at J-Mart, we are always hiring so if you want to contribute your own builds for MANUARY, feel free!

Oh, I don't know about that. Gil Gerard was pretty f'n MANLY in that show. He may make the cut. 8)

Great looking forward to seeing Buck :)

Man, that's some nice stuff.

I'm almost starting to miss my page. Maybe I'll have to go dig it out of inaction, now that I've actually gotten to toy with 3e a bit.

Mostly I only stopped posting builds because I really didn't like a lot of how much more restrictive 3e was to the "10/150" set, as I'd gotten comfortable with it. 3e's really nice as a system, but it's so much more expensive to do so many things in, and so much harder to get things that "feel" like themselves.

So I just kinda dropped off, but I've been thinking about rolling back in and posting stuff now and again.

No rule that says you have to use 3e straight. Taliesin's thread has some house rules in it ;)

I felt that way, too, at first but really it's just more expensive for skill monkey types. Powerhouses and energy controllers are about the same, really. Putting together a PL10/150 pt Batman that is as complete as your 2E version isn't possible, though. But I feel pretty good about my PL10 Nightwing, Cap, Spidey and others so it can be done with enough tweaking.

And with some good house ruling as Jetstream mentions, you can enhance things to get some things more manageable without breaking the game.

*burp*

I just drank a Bud Light, watched some football and now I'm watching beer company commercials during football games and thinking I have a shot with some of those women in bikinis. Based on that, it must be...

MANUARY!

And we've got a real MAN for Aisle 2!

Image
My name is Simon Williams. I used to be known as Wonder MAN. I used to be an Avenger. Back when that really meant something. I know what I'm about to tell you is not a popular idea. I know that what I'm about to tell you flies in the face of how I've lived my life up until now. And maybe what I'm telling you flies in the face of what you believe. But the Avengers are wrong. The idea of a group of super-powered persons gathering together and deciding what's best for the world...is wrong. There is something very sexy about the idea. Something very appealing. Sure, I'll give you that. And that's why I was one of them for so long... But now I see clearly that I was wrong. They are wrong. - Wonder Man

WONDER MAN
PL: 13 (193 pts) - OPL: 13 ; DPL: 13

ABILITIES: STRENGTH 16, STAMINA 15, AGILITY 2, DEXTERITY 2, FIGHTING 8, INTELLECT 3, AWARENESS 1, PRESENCE 3

SKILLS: Athletics (+16), Close Combat [Unarmed] 2 (+10), Deception 4 (+7/+9) [Attractive], Expertise [Business] 5 (+8), Expertise [Performance] 5 (+8), Insight (+1), Intimidation 5 (+8), Perception 4 (+5), Persuasion 5 (+8/+10) [Attractive], Stealth (+2), Technology 4 (+7), Vehicles 4 (+6)

ADVANTAGES: All-Out Attack, Attractive (1), Benefit (2), Fast Grab, Improved Grab, Interpose, Power Attack

POWERS:
Super Strength: Enhanced Strength 4 (25,000 Tons, Flaw: Limited to Lifting); 4 pts
Ionic Physiology: Protection 1, Impervious 7, Immunity 16 (Aging, Life Support, Fatigue Effects); 31 pts
Ionic Flight: Flight 8 (500 mph); 16 pts

EQUIPMENT:
NONE

OFFENSE:
Initiative +2
Close Attack +8
Unarmed +10 [Unarmed +16]
Ranged Attack +2

DEFENSES:
Dodge +8 [DC18] Parry +10 [DC20]
Toughness +16 (+7 Impervious), Fortitude +16, Will +7

COMPLICATIONS:
Fame: Simon is a well-known actor as well as a long time Avengers, making him very recognizable
Obsession: Stopping The Avengers from doing any more damage to the world
Relationships: Simon is good with the ladies, but he and Wanda, The Scarlet Witch, had his longest, most complete and weirdest relationship
Rivalry: His brother, The Grim Reaper

Abilities 100 + Skills 19 (38 ranks) + Advantages 8 + Powers 51 + Defenses 15 = 193 / 193

Comments: I liked Wonder MAN a lot as a kid, but as time went on, he became less and less interesting to me, even with his new “Hollywood” angle. But his recent incarnation as an anti-hero hellbent on destroying the Avengers for their, the world’s, own good, has been good. The way Bendis wrote it, you could almost see his point, especially the whole Civil War thing (which he was the lead writer on himself, mind you), which he called “a war about nothing in the end”, since Iron Man and Cap ended up making up and moving despite the cost, which is true.

As a build, Simon can hang with any of the top paragons in the Thorpacoverse and can wreak havoc on a team of PL10 heroes/villains. In my setting, he is where he is now, except his wrath is upon the Justice League, since I am currently not using the Avengers labels (generally).

I just had some red meat cooked over fire. I think we're going to keep rolling with...

MANUARY!

And we've got a smaller, but still MAN-SIZED item.

Come on, Oliver! Punch him into next week! The Lizard League makes the Serpent Squad look competent!

YOUNG OMNI-MAN
PL: 11 (189 pts) - OPL: 11 ; DPL: 11

ABILITIES: STRENGTH 14, STAMINA 12, AGILITY 4, DEXTERITY 2, FIGHTING 8, INTELLECT 5, AWARENESS 1, PRESENCE 1

SKILLS: Acrobatics 2 (+6), Athletics 2 (+16), Deception 4 (+5), Insight (+1), Intimidation 6 (+7), Perception 4 (+5), Persuasion (+1), Stealth (+4), Technology 2 (+7)

ADVANTAGES: All-Out Attack, Beginner's Luck, Diehard, Eidetic Memory, Equipment (1), Power Attack

POWERS:
Super Senses: Senses 1 (Normal Vision [Extended], Normal Hearing [Extended]); 2 pts
Viltrumite Physiology: Feature 1 (Longevity); 1 pts
Invulnerability: Immunity 6 (All Environmental Conditions, Suffocation [Limited]), Regeneration 1 (1/every 5 rounds, Extra: Persistent), Protection 2, Impervious 7; 24 pts
Super Strength: Enhanced Strength 4 (6,000 Tons, Flaw: Limited to Lifting); 4 pts
Flight and Super-Speed: 33 pt Dynamic Array; 35 pts
Flight: Flight 14 (32,000 mph), Movement 2 (Space Travel 2) (Extra: Dynamic); 33 pts
Super-Speed: Speed 14 (32,000 mph), Quickness 8 (Extra: Dynamic); 2 pts

EQUIPMENT:
(5ep)
Young Justice Communicard: Senses 2 (Communication Link [Radio, Young Justice Members), GPS, Feature 1 (Mount Justice/Avengers Tower Access), Benefit 1 (Young Justice Status); 5ep

OFFENSE:
Initiative +4
Close Attack +8 [Unarmed +14]
Ranged Attack +2

DEFENSES:
Dodge +8 [DC18] Parry +8 [DC18]
Toughness +14 (+7 Impervious), Fortitude +14, Will +8

COMPLICATIONS:
Enemy: The Viltrumites
Inexperienced: Oliver still makes a lot of impulsive, rookie mistakes when crime fighting
Relationships: He is close to his father, Omni-Man, his brother Invincible and his step-mother, Debbie Grayson
Temper: He is still learning to keep his Viltrumite temper in check, but he's not that good at it yet
Weakness: The Scourge Virus, which can take away a Viltrumites powers at minimum, and kill them if it is severe enough

Abilities 94 + Skills 10 (20 ranks) + Advantages 6 + Powers 66 + Defenses 13 = 189 / 189

Comments: Oliver Grayson, Invincible’s younger brother, is a fun character. He’s the son of Omni-MAN and an alien insect-type queen who he married during his exile. In order to save Oliver once the Vilrumites found him, he had Mark bring him to Earth where he lived with Mark and his mom until the whole Viltrumite War thing. Oliver’s half alien heritage grants him perfect memory of everything he’s ever seen (including his birth) but it also increases his aging to where he’s a teenager in physical looks, but he’s really only about 5 years old. Since his Viltrumite powers have kicked in, his aging has slowed, so I gave him Longevity instead of immunity to aging to show that. Other than that, he’s a maturing Viltrumite who will be in his brother and dad’s leagues before long.

Very nice Wonder MAN builds, especially the first one!

All the stats are right-on for the current Simon version.

I know sometimes it is stated that Wondy has above normal reflexes, vision and hearing. And that he can run faster than an express train. I think he was given those abilities from the start in order to be a one-MAN Avengers demolition! Reflexes on a par with CA, speed and flight to take on IM, strength and invulnerability to fight Thor and Mjolnir and enhanced senses to deal with the Wasp.
