Unfortunately, there is errata. One of the great things about GR & this board is that they work together to locate & correct them.
Ranged Damage 11 (Burst Area 8, Homing 6) is 36 points: adding Unreliable (5 Uses) brings that down to 25. Bought as Equipment, this only costs 5 pp for the 25 ep - I don't know where you're coming up with 150ep. As for the Unreliable, I inferred it - it's not actually written down but it makes sense: actual fighter planes do not carry an unlimited supply of missiles, and adding that limitation to the power made the points come out right.
There is other errata for the fighter jet, unfortunately. Breaking down the build:
The book lists a Fighter Jet as size Huge, STR 10, Speed 12, Defense 6 & Toughness 10. I strongly suspect the book is wrong on the jet's flight speed. Speed 12 = 8000 mph, or approximately Mach 11; far too fast to represent current aircraft. Speed 9 (2000 mph) is a more appropriate speed, a bit under Mach 3. Even an SR-71 Blackbird would have no greater than Speed 10 or 11.
The base stats for a Huge vehicle are STR 8, Toughness 9 & Defense adjustment of -4 (the base value for Defense is 10). Here again, the book is incorrect: the correct values for the Defense adjustment are in the errata thread. The size costs 2pp, increased Strength another 2, and increased Toughness 1. Defense is left alone, which brings us to 5 points. Speed 9 costs another 18, the above build for Missiles 25 & then the machine gun for 18. The total cost on that is 66, which is what is listed in the book as the cost for a Fighter Jet.
Now for the Batplane. Removing the machine gun brings the cost down to 48 & adding Remote Control brings it up to 49 - the same cost as in Batman's build.
In short, there are three pieces of errata that were messing up your calculations: the Defense adjustment for vehicle size, the speed of a Fighter Jet & a missing (but logical) limitation on the missiles.
