For Silver Banshee, what is her Weaken resisted by, Will or Fortitude? I could see an argument being made for either. Jeanette (the banshee from Secret Six), hers is probably Will. Course, she's also probably higher than PL 10, since she took Wonder Woman down, after WW showed up and the entire team was basically like 'We're screwed'.

Also, unless her Weaken is Simultaneous as well as Broad, she's only able to Weaken one Ability at a time.

Oh, right. I'd forgotten that. Plus at some point I'm 90% sure I saw her Flying, so I'll add that in. As for what resists it, I'd assume Fortitude, since it seemed to have a physical effect on people.

-I only know Gorgon because he showed up for a second to fight the League. He gave them some trouble with his multiple head-tentacles (his comic-book self is an homage of Doctor Octopus, you see), but Hawkgirl ultimately grabbed him and played "Snap the whip" into the side of a building. He's basically a mini-version of Doc Ock, for obvious reasons- the Extra Limbs make him a much better, more efficient fighter.

-The female Doctor Light was one of Wolfman/Perez' creations for the "Crisis", probably staving off the pain of wiping out so much of the DC Universe in one fell swoop. A bitchy, haggard scientist, she defied a lot of comic book tropes and/or ethnic stereotypes- her skin was explicitly laid out as "NOT standard Comic Book Oriental" in Perez' design notes, she was a lordly bitch instead of a submissive figure, had no martial arts supremacy, and she wasn't even designed to be that attractive at first! OK, so she was asian and good at math- ya can't defy them ALL. She ended up in Comic Book Limbo over the years, getting a lot skinnier and hotter, and writers just plumb stopped using her, but I like the design, at least. In "JLU", she was a really minor background character, being scene in the middle of scenes, but she only had a couple lines (spoken by Lauren "I play every Asian person in cartoons" Tom).

-Dr. Light's just a standard PL 10 Blaster, though she's a bit cheap on points.

Complications:
Responsibility (More Lonely Than You Could Possibly Imagine)- J'onn lost his wife and two children when Mars was attacked by another race. As a result, he spends a lot of time brooding, and doesn't communicate well with other people.

Total: Abilities: 88 / Skills: 58--19 / Advantages: 15 / Powers: 105 / Defenses: 19 (246)

-J'onn (he was never called "The Martian Manhunter" here) was developed fairly early on as the kind of funny odd-duck of the series, often hiding away from others, doing weird things (taking a nap by standing up with his eyes dark), and making deadpan reactions to people (The Flash- "She wants me!" J'onn- "INDEED"). He was kind of lovable in that sense as the ultimate outsider (his Smallville vacation with Clark and his reactions to the full-city sweep with his Telepathy) who was still handy in a fight, but not too much. J'onn tended not to cause nearly as much damage as his comrades; he was more of a thinker, using his various other powers to aid the team. He wasn't a bad character at all- he was just hampered by his position as "The guy on the Watchtower" for much of the last two seasons. It allowed him very little characterization other than being the bearer of bad news to unruly Leaguers, and left out a lot of his trademark humour. Flash helped bring some of it out, though.

-His status was unfortunately much like his nature as DC's "Guy who gets his ass kicked by the villain first to showcase Superman's higher power". Yeah, in regular comics, he tends to get thumped A LOT to showcase Supes & Wonder Woman, since he's the B-League to their A-League. There was a BIT less of that in this show (as they rarely focused on J'onn's strength- I had friends watching the show who had no idea he was Super-Strong despite watching several episodes), but it was still frequent. J'onn from being knocked down a LOT in the first season. It kinda got ridiculous for a bit- he was fragile as all Hell. Even taking out the Fire weakness, they made him get his ass kicked a lot.

-J'onn is the most expensive JLUer because of the sheer extent of his various powers. Even Alt-ing half of them off of each other (he can Shapeshift into various forms, do a Phase Attack, reach inside things and tear their parts out, or Phase through solid materials... I made his Telepathy part of his Attack Array just because... he's 30 points more expensive without that), in addition to his vast Abilities category (Strong, tough, smart AND wise). Thank God he isn't also a super detective in this version. He gets the standard "One PL lower than his buddies, but costs more in points" that Batman did. So J'onn's arguably less use in a fight than most of the other Big Seven, but he makes up for it in sheer versatility and side-effects. Who else could disguise himself as the enemy villain for hours? Or beat the entire Suicide Squad with ease, within seconds? Or make himself look like the wall?

Dr. Light was kinda interesting as she was perhaps one of the main "minor" characters, appearing in most group shots and even a few of the more select battles/situations. Too bad she didn't get to be in more focus episodes like Vigilante did or even get an episode of her own like Booster's.

J'onn became much less of a swiss-army knife in the cartoon. I don't think he WAS super-strong. Timm & Co. seemed to want to avoid giving J'onn all of Superman's powers, plus shapeshifting, phasing, telepathy, etc., and instead largely focused on the abilities that made him unique. So no "Martian Vision" for example.

Actually he did some heavy lifting and Wonder Woman described him as a "super-strong, telepathic shapeshifter".
While he was markedly less than his comic book version (Telekinesis, Super-Senses and Martian vision were absent, while Invisibility and Phasing were considered part of his shape-shifting abilities) J'onn remained pretty impressive in term of versatility.

I always assumend that his analogies to Superman - in the DCAU - were due to the fact that Supes was the first Earth superhero met by J'onn. So, in order to assume a less alien outlook, J'onn simply duplicated Supes at the best of his abilities.
"Yes, it's a bloody flying alligator setting fire to my city!"

Actually, a couple of points on J'onn:

While it was rare, he was eventually refered to as the Martian Manhunter in the show, though it was by the Cadmus crew when they were infiltrating the Watchtower. I don't recall if any heroes ever refered to him as such, usually he was either "J'onn" or "The Martian", the latter of which almost sounds racist.

Regarding his strength, Superman did once say during a fight with Solomon Grundy that Grundy was "As strong as we are", implying he and J'onn had similar strength levels. The Lords J'onn showed some fairly solid strength against Doomsday, and he casually outmuscled some Parademons during the finale. They just tended to stress his shapeshifting and phasing more often, as he'd assume different battle forms to better handle a situation than straight out punching stuff.

He did seem a little less durable than Superman, likely to necesistate phasing or shapeshifting as a viable defense. I generally prefered the idea that J'onn's base form was more in the "Thing" range strength/toughness wise, but he could use a combination of density increase and shapeshifting to achieve strength, toughness and speed in the Superman range, but at the cost of 'locking' himself in that state and not being able to phase or shapeshift as easily. If he wants to be able to use his other abilities more freely, he can't be as strong and durable due to how much it 'solidfies' his form. So he has to choose between degrees of versatility or raw power.

Secret (Numerous Conspiracies)- For one thing, Waller is supposed to be dead. There's also a lot of bodies buried, and she knows the hows and the whys.
Rivalry (Metahumans)- Waller does not like, nor trust metahumans. She knows they are a potential threat to national security.

Total: Abilities: 38 / Skills: 76--38 / Advantages: 16 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 4 (96)

-Amanda Waller was a huge thorn in the Justice League's side all through the first "JLU" season, being a super-powerful shadowy figure who took umbrage with the League's sheer might and power over the American people. She made some dangerous bedfellows (Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Galatea) in her quest to bring the League down, did a lot of lying, and yet was partially justified in her actions- a group of SEVEN metahumans took down a parallel universe's United States. What could a HUNDRED do? She wasn't comically evil by any means- she knew Wade Eiling's idea of sending a nuclear warhead to take out Doomsday & Superman simultaneously was WAY over the line, and once she realized what Luthor was up to, she sprung the League and went to stop him. This made her one of the better antagonists in cartoon history, as she was definitely toeing the line between good & evil, doing what needed to be done.

-I love the very concept of Waller- at her core, she's a short, overweight black woman who wields near-unimaginable power (even the PRESIDENT thinks she's dead!). It's fairly stupid how DC's rebooted her into the standard Generic Comic Book Body-Type, as not only is she just one of HUNDREDS of identical-looking women out there, but it ruins the entire contrast of her power with her appearance.

-Not a powerhouse, this spark-plug of a woman is all about the Skills. She's not particularly likeable or nice, but has a ton of interpersonal skills, is able to scare just about anybody, and can manipulate with the best of them. The definition of "friends in high places", she's used her information to gain experts in virtually every field that are loyal to her, discover the secret identity of Batman (possibly via Hugo Strange- a Cadmus operative), controls a massive military organization with hundreds of available soldiers, has a direct line to the President, etc. All of that makes her precise Skills hard to determine ("Manipulate & Hide Records" isn't easily found), but Government, Current Events, Connected, Contacts, & Benefit pretty much cover all the bases as far as I'm concerned. She's highly dangerous, but in that way that's entirely roleplaying.

Complications:
Motivation (Destruction)- Their time under the government's heel has made the Royal Flush Gang highly-bitter and destructive. Most of them just want to fight the League for the absolute sheer hell of it.
Obsession (Proving Himself the Strongest)- Ten has an intense desire to prove himself, and thus fights Superman for the sole reason of wanting to be the strongest guy around.

Total: Abilities: 70 / Skills: 10--5 / Advantages: 14 / Powers: 18 / Defenses: 10 (118)

-The Royal Flush Gang only showed up for a single arc, but it was a good'n. It was the arc where The Joker planted bombs all over Las Vegas, and freed some kids who'd been locked up and forcibly trained by the government (ie. Cadmus), then talked them into doing his dirty work by holding the Justice League off. Since their training had left them sociopathic and arrogant, there wasn't much of a Persuasion roll involved. They brawled with the League in small numbers, with some doing more damage than others.

-Ten was pretty simplistic, but it's a beautifully-simple concept: A guy who's as strong as Superman. And that's it. No Heat Vision, no Super-Senses, not even any Flight- he's just strong as hell, and can hold Superman at bay. He's just your average cocky young black man, with the side effect of being almost impossible to injure. He served the purpose of keeping GameBreaker Superman at bay for the ENTIRETY of the arc, meaning the other heroes had to do everything. At the end, Supes suggested that they stop fighting, because the bomb would kill EVERYONE. Ten said "So? I'll still win!" That pretty much summed him up in a nutshell.

-Ten is ridiculously strong (though well within common sense- JLU's power levels were a bit lower than the base DCU's at times, as guys like Superman maxed out at lifting 747s under duress, rather than whipping around aircraft carriers), and basically tailor-made for fighting Superman. He probably won't WIN the fight (he's a PL lower), but he'll take almost every punch easily, and can dish out his own, being held back only by his amateurish fighting skills. During the episode, they basically slugged it out non-stop, and Ten walked through everything Supes could throw at him till the very end, with last Uppercut, then melting a metal sign onto him. Oh, and Joker says he's completely immune to pain, but he actually wasn't- he screamed and yelled in pain plenty.

-King was pretty much the weakest concept of the bunch, a smarmy leader-type who didn't do any actual leading, and just shot energy blasts around. He ran away in the final fight because he thought the bomb was gonna go off. Just a simple, bare-bones Blaster, made a bit better because it's a powerful repeating Blast, but he's still not very great. Very much the type of guy you throw against the party just because the villains need a Blaster.

Re: Jab's Builds: Bane, J'onn J'onzz, A.Waller, Royal Flush Gang

The Royal Flush Gang was a nice little stealth crossover and nod to earlier stuff.

The crossover part was that the RFG were voiced by the cast of the Teen Titans cartoon. King (the leader) was voiced by Robin, Ten (the brick) by Cyborg, Jack (the shapeshifter) by Beast Boy, Queen (the 'something'kinetic) by Raven, and Ace (the childlike one) by Starfire.

The nod was to the 80's Superpowers animated series, where the Joker was the one that formed the Royal Flush Gang.

AMANDA WALLER

Quoted for truth, Waller is arguably one of the best characters ever. I think that her DCAU version was a little better than the comic-book version, more balanced and not used as a scapegoat for bad plots (yes, I'm looking at you "Salvation Run").

True once again. I don't like the "New 52" (they are going to be 46 in a few months) Waller because she look generic. The classic version was visually unique among comic book character, but it also conveyed two important elements about her: first, Waller was primarily a social and mental opponent, she could take down many character by fist-fighting, but she could definitly make their life hell; second, Waller was basicly older than the general 25-35ish standard of comic-book characters (JSA apart).
