PbP is a great way to get your feet wet, eddieisbored. I have PDFs of most of the books, and when I set aside time to GM my games here, I bring them all up and then search through until I understand what people are doing, what rolls I need to make, etc., etc. And the 2e rules forum is regularly read by a number of people with excellent understanding of the rules-- and who post regularly-- so you should be able to get answers to your questions quickly.eddieisbored wrote:I'm hesitant to say I would GM a game. As much experience I have at being a player to the d20 system I only occasionally run a campaign. However, I was thinking that play-by-post might benefit me since it allows me more time to look things up in the books or ask questions around the forums if I'm unsure of what to do.
If the villains take the initiative then it will be a player driven story, as it was previously mentioned, so there would be less of a burden coming up with an entire plot. I figured if players left me with 3 sentences of back story, 3 beliefs, and 3 goals (short, medium and long term) I might be able to connect the dots and whip something up to unite their characters.
Thoughts? This isn't a commitment yet either. I would rather play a game myself.
I'd be happy to help, but as it is, I'm GMing one game, and am going to open another soon, and I think that for now, that's my limit.
