Shadowbourne, why did you make an attack roll? If it is a general area there is no attack roll, if it is targetted, then you do and those hit also only make Toughness saves.

Also, a 30' area will hit EVERYONE in the house (and parts of surrounding houses if they were inhabited). While you might not mind, Blaze may have issue with it.

My bad. Never made a character with Burst area attack before. As for the 30' area...I was on the assumption(I know, bad), that being in a room would contain it to that room and the WALLS of that room...but, after some thought, even if it did, the damage would actually destroy the room? That is depending upon the toughness of the room?

This is something that does need defined better. IF the attack is a perception based as I think ranged area attacks are...what happenes to the area you CAN"T see? Hmmmm...wouldn't Blaze and the others have cover if they are in OTHER rooms in the house? Doesn't the interveneing walls count as protection of some manner or other?

A lot of its will depend on the effect. Its generally like classic D&D fireball. You have to target the center, then it goes out from there. You may not see the entire affected area, you have to see the original target center.

Well....then. I could rewrite the scene and do a different attack. I take it then that it WILL destroy the building then and be quite an issue with Blaze and the zoning commission( ;) ). This though does bring to light the waste such power represents...without selective, this a huge problem if you don't have a scenario specifically designed with open areas.

Yes, a DC25 attack will most likely take down at least half the house, given its run down condition. Houses don't get Reflex saves.

Most area effects have to be used carefully without Selective.

For Number Two I think I will use the 4 points for:

+4 bluff, Precise Shot, and power attack. I will save the last point for later.
