Darklite shrugs in regards to the metahuman potential thing, whether because she's uncertain of the specifics or doesn't care to divulge is unknown.

"Well, there's some good news at least." She looks at Pandora. "The question then is....what do you want to do Pandora? We can't release Echidna's creations, they were bad enough the first time."

[Neo-Paladin]

" I understand your concern", Pandora says, nodding quietly, " and I share it. Apparently, Echidna only managed to finish my base programming before she was cut off from all support and forced to remain on earth as a human after the Gahral left. Which means that I do not feel a compulsion to open the singularity. I..I am actually not sure what I am to do now."

Darklite nods "That simplifies things then. Step one, we don't have you over to the grahal ambassadors. Step two involves how we deal with them trying to take you by less than friendly methods and more importantly, against your will."

She ponders for a moment. "Watcher, any ideas how we can put a stop to the grahal's legal avenues on this matter? I'm not a lawyer, but there must be something that prevents them from taking her if she doesn't want to go... you know, short of refusing them outright. Nothing we have so far can be pinned on them, they'd just deny."

[Neo-Paladin]

" That is an excellent question", Watcher responds, " sadly, interstellar law is a minefield. Normally, if she was just a normal citizen, we could theoretically grant her asylum. Morrigan and Xittra are both examples of this procedure. However, she has caused injury and property damage. Since an alien cannot be tried in a human court - see State vs. Laghax for details on this ruling - , the case has to be handed over to the respective authorities. Which, in our case, would be the Gahral embassy. We could theoretically plead our case and suggest that we fear she might be facing punishments incompatible with human rights...however, I know of no case in which this has actually worked."

Trissa didn't feel any particular reason to believe that Echidna was actually dead. Supposition by someone who didn't know her own name a few hours ago wasn't nearly enough evidence to convince her. However, that was a debate for elsewhere. "Watcher, suppose the charges were dropped. Or no charges were filed in the first place. Then there would be no reason to turn her over to anyone."

" In that case, we could keep her here, yes. Unfortunately, even one single insurance claim against her would be enough to bring the case before court...which would only be too happy to hand the whole procedure over to the Gahral. "

Trissa looked at Watcher, then Darklite and finally settled her gaze on Pandora. "If we turn you over to the Gahral, they will find out who you are. And I believe you will suffer for the actions of your creator. I also suspect there may be a faction of Gahral who are still sympathetic to Echidna and will seek to use you to their own ends." She sighed heavily. "I like neither of those scenarios and would like to find an alternative. But we need more information about why you were activated and by who. Did your 'upgrade' give you any more information about that?"

[Neo-Paladin]

Pandora frowns, tilting her head slightly as if listening to a voice only she can hear. " I was not activated by anyone specific. Instead, I was activated by the lab's automatic systems because a specific program sequence was triggered - I still suspect it was the death of my creator that activated the lab again. Of course, in the time since my creation, something must have broken, for the mental upgrade was supposed to happen instantly."

"Do you think you could find the lab again? There may be something there to help us figure it out."

[Neo-Paladin]

" Yes. As you might know, all Gahral possess eidetic memory. It would require that we travel far beneath the city, however", Pandora says quietly, " and you should be ready for combat. The laboratory has automatic defenses that ignore me but that I cannot deactivate."
