(With Apologies to the other guy on here called Paladin...)
"My name? It hardly matters any more. I haven't used it in a long time. I am The Paladin. That is all that is important."
"You want to know more about me? Very well. First you must know and understand this: This universe is but one of many. Our dimension is sandwiched between two others...you might call them Heaven and Hell, though that is not strictly true."
"The Hell Dimension is ruled by a powerful demon known as Monger. He is an evil tyrant, who rules over his demonic horde with an iron fist. But he feels that he deserves more, and he covets the Earth as his own. Monger himself cannot enter our dimension, thanks to a binding placed upon him by his enemies, but he can manifest an Avatar - a tiny fraction of his own power, infused with his conciousness. His plan was to use this Avatar to mate with a Human woman, creating a half demon child who could exist here and rule according to Monger's wishes."
"But, his enemies in 'Heaven' - a group known as The Celestial Chorus - saw this, and attempted to stop him. They managed to prevent the child from being taken back into the Hellish world of it's sire, and kept it here. They ensured it was raised among the Humans, and would not be corrupted by demonic influence."
"That was twenty five years ago, and that child now stands before you. The Chorus have entrusted me with protecting this world against the demonic hordes of Monger. They gave me this mystical armour, and a sword with which to strike down the demons who attempt to invade the Earth."
"But The Chorus were not entirely successful. Monger's Avatar managed to take back to it's master a sample of my being, from which Monger's power was able to create a clone. My brother. His name is Herald, and he is the general of the demonic horde. He and I have fought many times. He destroyed my original blade in one of our battles before I was able to defeat him, which led the Chorus to bestow upon me this new blade composed of purifying fire."
"I now defend this city against any threat, whatever it's nature. Human life must be protected at any cost...that is the final lesson taught to me by The Chorus."

I'd very much like everyone's opinions on that Origin Story. I have to come up with one for my GM, as it is going to be part of an upcoming storyline, and I've never really written anything solid on how this guy became The Paladin. Any constructive help would be appreciated.
