Owen
HP: 5, Condition: -1 toughness

Owen rubbed his temples. He didn't understand the tensions between Russ and Oswald, except that they didn't agree about this Soviet Union. That, and Oswald had tried to shoot Jhondak. He didn't trust the man either.

The gunslinger kept his weapons at the ready, glanced back towards the door, and the sirens, and followed the others through the portal.

GM Post:

After surrendering the pistol to Jhondak with reluctance, Oswald follows Jhondak through the portal. As the last member of the ka-tet steps through, the portal closes. The members of the ka-tet stand in a field of golden wheat, far from the cottage they can see in the distance. Behind them loom the gates of Camelot, a mere handful of miles away. Two farmers stop working for a matter of seconds as they watch a handful of oddly dressed men appear in the middle of the field. Leaning on a shovel, one notes: "Don't see that every day." The other one responds, "Nope." Spitting out some chewing tobacco, he continues with their irrigation work.

GM Post:

Two minutes later - The two officers responding to the reports of gunfire pull their police cruiser up near the front of the diner. Seeing no broken windows, one approaches cautiously, staying low. The other remains behind the door of the car, taking aim at the door and glancing at the tinted windows. As the first officer throws open the door and glances around the side of the door frame into the building, he gasps. "You're going to want to see this..." is all he can say to his partner. He rises to stand fully and surveys the scene, soon joined by his partner.

As the second detective reaches the door and looks in, he sees the two dead low men and the festering remains of all of the vampires. Some reduced to rotting meat sacs, while others left only bone. Aside from the burnt corpse of one of the creatures, a handful of the bodies crumbled into little more than dust, bone fragments, and bits of mummified flesh. Lighting up a cigarette and walking back towards the car to use the radio, detective Sterling notes, "There's no way I'm getting that on my suit."

Owen
HP: 5

Owen glanced around, realizing they were back in Camelot's world. "Well," he said, "we had better get back to Camelot. I'm sure King John will want to hear what little we've learned, and meet Mr. Oswald."

With that, the gunslinger started off for the city.

Myron Frost

Myron nods to Owen, and falls into step. "I am not entirely surprised to find the portal bring us here. There is an enchantment about the weapon Mr. Oswald is carrying. It only makes sense that if it was intended to kill King John, that it would also possess some sort of means to get the assassin into the right geometry."

"On that same thought, I will want to thoroughly examine the weapon before it is brought anywhere near the King... I was thinking, perhaps, we might apprentice Mr. Oswald to Lord Parkus. That would be my recommendation at least, if none of you objects." Myron looks back at their reluctant new companion. "How do your friends call you, Mr. Oswald? This feels a bit awkwardly formal."

Suddenly, the glowing snakes wreathing Myron fade out of existence. "Oh dear."
Myron closes his eyes, pinches the bridge of his nose, and takes several slow, deep breathes through his mouth. He looks a bit dizzy for a moment, but manages a smile. "That wasn't all that bad, this time."

Russ
HP: 0 CND: -2 Toughness, Staggered

"The rifle's enchanted?" Russ looked over his shoulder to where the portal had appeared. "That was uncomfortably convenient. I also agree on checking the thing before bringing it anywhere near the King. Hell, if you really want to put my mind at ease I suggest triple-checking it and taking the damn thing apart and spreading the pieces as far from each other as you can manage."

The gambler returned his attention to Oswald. "I guess sai Parkus can handle himself with this guy. Of course there's always the danger he'd actually give Ozzy here a fair chance. That's a lot more than I can say for many of the other gunslingers if last time was any indication."

GM Post:

Oswald shakes his head. "They didn't say anything about coming... wherever this is. They wanted me to stay in Dallas. That's where the President was going to be." Ignoring all the discussion of about enchantments and sai Parkus, Oswald answers Myron's question: "People either call me 'Ozzie' or 'Lee.'"

Russ snorted with laughter as some idea apparently came to his mind. "Echanted rifles, magic bullets. Can't believe the tin foil crowd was actually right on the money for a change." He looked to the others, having apparently regained some of his usual mirth. "Erm, nevermind that."

"So they wanted Ozzie to kill the President, the King John of that world." He motioned back the way they came. "Which might mean the Ozzie of this world is still out there somewhere with a magic rifle of his own. Or may be he's dead or doesn't know about any of this stuff."

"As for this?" Russ swept his in a wide arc to encompass everything around them as he talked to Oswald. "You've met the wizard already, Ozzie boy, now it's time to go to Camelot."

Jhondak
HP: 3
Condition: Injured 3, Fatigued

Jhondak followed along with the others, using his spear for support. His mood was foul, as he felt that their mission had been a failure. They had learned nothing of the forces arrayed against them and were bringing a suspected assassin to see the King.

Myron Frost

Myron hails the guards as they pass through the gates.

"Mr. Oswald, that is Ozzie's counterpart on this world has already been killed. My divinations took me to a nearby realm, and I could feel the attention of the Lords of Chaos fixated on Ozzie's counterpart on that realm. However, some agent killed him there as well." Myron taps the case containing the rifle. "The battleground between Law and Chaos is here. This weapon, among other potential enchantments, can open a portal to this realm. I fully expect that the Can-Toi in that tavern were intending to have Ozzie kill King John here."

Once inside the gates, Myron makes a staying gesture to the Ka-tet and approaches the Watch-Captain at the gate. "Could you send a runner to the Castle? Inform them that the party of the Apprentice Owen Amistad has returned. We would like Lord Parkus to meet us at our lodgings." Myron offers the man a brief bow, before returning to the Ka-tet.

"We will want to speak with Lord Parkus before introducing Ozzie to him. He has a quick hand, and knows what Ozzie looks like." As the party continues it's walk to the inn, Myron starts to fidget with the heavy gear that is his amulet, and begins to murmur quietly in the language he speaks when casting spells.

<Come to me, Engine of Brass. Your master is in Camelot.>

GM Post:

Hearing its master's call, the Brass Engine departs from the Kawima camp in the direction of the city of free men. Its master meanwhile walks through the gates of the great city, past a populace which is clearly preparing for war. All men who can be armed labor with their weapons beside them. Aside from the men, many women walk through the streets carrying leather bags which rattle with the sound of metal cooking ware inside. A rare few of these women display hands dyed yellow with turmeric, something that the ka-tet did not witness upon their first arrival in Camelot.

With guards long ago dispatched to contact sai Parkus, the ka-tet arrives at their boarding house. Bron labors out front near the smithy, repairing what appears to be an old truck that bears an uncanny resemblance to something out of Mad Max. Inside of the inn, the ka-tet spies the gunslinger Florent, playing a game of chance with some locals. Apparently on a winning streak, he shows his winning cards to his rival players, many of whom groan in frustration and slide coins over from the middle of the table to the hoard in front of the roguish gunslinger. He smiles at them and then notices the arrival of the ka-tet, raising an eyebrow at Oswald.

Jhondak
HP: 3
Condition: Fatigued, Injured 3

Jhondak nodded in greeting as they passed Bron. Whatever he was building, it looked intimidating. Inside, he found a seat and called for some food. Given the oddities of dimensional travel, he wasn't sure how long they'd been gone but he did know that it felt like a rather long time. While waiting, he casually inspected his wounds. They would need cleaning soon to prevent infection.

GM Post:

When Jhondak orders a drink, Florent excuses himself from his game of cards. Pushing the winnings into his overturned hat, he approaches Jhondak's table and flips a coin onto the server's tray. "I've got this one," he explains. "Be a dear and call for a physician to look over the King's guests as well, please."

"Picked up a stray, Sai Jhondak?" he asks while looking Oswald over. "He looks like a walk in rather than a local," the gunslinger notes.

"It seems to be the way things work with this ka-tet, doesn't it?" Jhondak looked back towards Owen. "I'll let our leader explain."

Owen
HP: 5

Owen smiled grimly at the gunslinger and tipped his hat. "Sai Florent. This is Lee Harvey Oswald - we encountered him during our Todash. Lord Myron believes he may be of use to us and the king. Sai Parkus should be here shortly, so I think it best to wait for his arrival before we explain further." I'm not sure I understand it myself, he added silently.
