Charles Kilroy
HP: 1 CP: 1
"Right then." Kilroy rolled up his sleeves and prepared to get to work. The sisters and Samantha seemed to be the ones that would be the most help. That left the others to take care of the grunt work. "An... Ant.. Anteriael! Take that man to the furthest corner of the room. I'd like him close enough that he'll be the first target of this thing if something goes wrong. It's taken him before and we defeated it. We should be able to do so again, yes?" He nodded, hoping to get agreement.
"Clay and ehh.... Aasif. I want you to watch the rest of us. There is dark magic in that book " Kilroy glanced down at it. " and coming from... well who knows where this goes... and I want to be sure none of us are coming under any undue influence while we work."
Then he turned to the girls. "I'll need your help with the circle itself." He led them to a small pile of items in the corner of the room and picked up a small bowl. "This is what was used to draw the runes." Kilroy stuck a finger into it carefully. "Ick. It's not blood. At least not entirely. But I'd rather not venture to guess what else it's made of."
Kilroy led Samantha to one of the leak points. "Sam, this sigil is reversed. All occurrences of this symbol actually. The open side needs to face North. If you can correct it and the other 3 like it. Thank you."
"Angie and Barbara. There are three pairs of sigils that need to be fixed simultaneously, so you'll need to coordinate closely. You can do that, right?" He pointed out the three locations around the circle. "Each one needs an additional East-West line in the center."
"And, in case you are all wondering, I'll be focusing on the gate in the center. As you work, this... thing will undoubtedly attempt to find more flaws and escape. I, through force of will, shall prevent it from doing so."
Kilroy walked slowly around the circle to a point opposite the splintered doorway. "One more thing. I doubt this warning is necessary but under no circumstances should you enter the circle. Flawed though it may be, it is all that is keeping the full strength of the beast from accosting us."
Kilroy raised his arms, like an orchestra conductor. Faint shimmers of power coursed over his hands. "Now then. Are we ready? Yes? Let's begin."
