Unless I've missed it (quite possible), I don't think anyone has included much tracking, so a Native American warrior/scout could work quite well. Granted, it's a bit of a stereotype, but throw in some minor mysticism stuff (can speak to the dead, animals, whatever) and it could work very well.

EDIT: Just saw you post your character, checking it now.

Middle class Englishman who's been hired to help with a little extra muscle and mechanical expertise. I'll flesh it out more, but would that be okay?

I'm excited for the interest, so I'm not going to say "no, you can't submit that character" because that'd be silly, but at the same time I don't want too many similar characters. So if you can make it work, that's cool because let's face it, in M&M, the devil's in the details.

BubblePop,

The only problem I see there is the lack of any languages, which reminds me that I need to check everyone else's build for languages. :)

Of course, it's possible that he doesn't speak any of the Native dialects, but that's a bit unlikely.

Azeri has tracking and expertise: survival. Time spent alone with the flock, keeping track of predators, finding water, tracking lost sheep & so on.

See, I did miss it. :)

Too much going on at once. If everyone's still reading (and it appears you are), that's for the interest. :)

BubblePop, can you add an Offense section for Makkapite? Just makes it easier when looking at the character.

I took some time last night and this morning to go through everyone’s submissions so far, and here are just a few things I’ve noted.

Aerlwyn - Jessica Winter

Build looks good, good with a gun, not so good with her fists which is fine. But could you list the two extra languages and include a background?

Bombaatu - Wu Guang

Like this build a lot, the Elongation is very interesting. I’m not sure how most GMs do it, but for the sake of simplicity, “chinese” is okay for a language as opposed to going into specific dialects. Other than the background (especially the “wanted” complication), it’s looking good.

Nineofspaes - Truth Ricketts

We’ve discussed the build before, and I’m good with it. I like the background, although can you add some complications?

And while I know Truth has no skills in it, perhaps a small sidearm might be useful, but that’s entirely up to you.

XeroKhan - Jack Spade

I like the idea of the character. One minor nitpick with the build, you list Precise Attack, but not it’s details. I assume it’s Ranged, but is it Cover or Concealment?

Badpenny - Horace Higgins

Everything looks good, one question regarding his background. Where was he living when his daughters were kidnapped and his wife died?

Timothy - Azeri Belasko

It’s an interesting character concept. Regarding his background, I’m curious what he would have done to make himself well known enough to be hired by the Railroad? Doing a little research, it does seem that the Dakotas, Wyoming, etc. is sheep country (I had no idea to be honest), so I guess he could be considered local to the Northern Pacific Railroad. If you could maybe flush that part of out of his background (i.e., what he did after his father died to gain him at least a little local notoriety).

Bubblepop - Makkapite

I mentioned this in another post, but might as well repeat myself. I like the concept of the character, but can you add an “Offensive” section? I see languages are there now (or maybe I missed them last night), so that’s great. Just a background then.

No hurry, I just wanted to make sure I went through every build a little bit more thoroughly.

@ Bubblepop.

One thing that might help would be to decide what tribe your character belongs to.

Most obvious choice would be the Sioux, aka the Lakota, Nakota and/or Dakota. They'd been getting screwed over in the area for a while @ this point. The Treaty of Laramie was about 5 years old and the Battle at the Little Bighorn was only a couple years in the future.

The other tribes in the area were the Turtle Mountain Chippewa, the Mandan, the Hidatsa and the Arikara. Wikipedia can fill you in on their histories, beliefs and interactions with settlers. Very interesting stuff.

I like the notes, gives me something to think about.

I just realized you interchange Wu Duang with Wu Guang in a few spots, so is his name Wu Duang?

Thanks for that. Mr. Cooke is hiring very skilled people (or they might already work for him in another capacity) for this job, so more information like that helps.
