Total: Abilities: 126 / Skills: 56--28 / Advantages: 24 / Powers: 144 / Defenses: 17 (339)

-Sl'gur't was the Queen of the Deviants, trying to slay the last Eternal. Instead, his final words moved her to marry him and becomes his Queen- while Kly'bn is stuck in one form, Sl'gur't instead shapechanges CONSTANTLY, never retaining the same form (except for when the artist gets lazy and shows her doing the same "multi-armed Buddha" pose with several arms. She tore her way through The Demogorge's belly (because too many Godheads were inside her mind/form- otherwise this'd be an INSANE Power Feat, as Demogorge was so tough he could take out every Death God simultaneously. She then battled Amatsu-Mikaboshi, and the heroes thought him slain- thinking that was for the best, they soon left the battlefield, only to fail the First Law of Shapeshifters: Always assume that the Shapeshifter beat your partner, and is now disguised as them. Mikaboshi took over the Skrull Pantheon and all their conquered deities, gathering a huge army on his way to "The Chaos War".

-Sl'gur't is PL 14 like Kly'bn, using Shapeshifting to make any caps- she has so many ranks of it (65 points' worth!) that she can basically do almost anything, and take on anyone.

-Horus is the son of Osiris and Isis, and aided his mother in raising Osiris from the dead and fighting his Uncle Set (called "Seth" in Marvel because of some other pronounciation- though this one just makes him sound like some regular name- would you be scared of a God named "Steve", too?)- he's also said to be the entire Sky (his eyes are the Sun & Moon) and a big bad-ass Falcon God too.

-Horus is rather powerful, matching Hercules and being a tad below some versions of Thor (they can fight more or less as equals, give or take). He's quite versatile and strong, kicks ass pretty well (PL 11.5 unarmed, PL 13 Blaster, PL 12 Paralyze), and he's a Flying Brick/Blaster/Experienced Warrior combo.

Total: Abilities: 98 / Skills: 62--31 / Advantages: 21 / Powers: 76 / Defenses: 27 (253)

-Bast/Bastet is a Lioness Goddess (later becoming a Cat Goddess) who was all about partying, pleasure and dance, though she became worshipped less as Sekhmet, Goddess of War, came to prominence when Upper & Lower Egypt merged cultures (much like Upper & Lower Canada in the early years, the "Upper" portion was noticeably further South). Marvel used "her" as a gender-switching fighter who became the Panther God of Wakanda, meaning that "he" tended to appear as a gigantic cat. This form helped out a God Squad against the Chaos King (in "Chaos War"), and bestows powers onto T'Challa and others at-will (once taking back his powers and bestowing them upon another who's impressed him).

-Bastet (often known as "The Panther God" these days) is a Giant Cat done Godly, becoming a PL 13 Melee Fighter with magical powers and a ton of experience. The "Empower" ability is Affects Others Variable, and could go on any NUMBER of Gods, who are occasionally shown bestowing favours upon Mortals, but only characters who I've specifically seen doing that get points for it (unless I just feel like ignoring it or assuming it's a use of their Benefit or Ritualist Powers). Bast can also "See Souls", which allowed him to detect the incursion of The Skrulls when even Reed Richards' "Super-Handy-Dandy Skrull Detector" failed. The Panther God is PL 12 offensively in Regular Form (PL 13 Defensively), but jumps to PL 13 in his Giant Cat Form (PL 10.5 Defensively), meaning he's not QUITE PL 13 all over, but it's still pretty good.

Total: Abilities: 120 / Skills: 64--32 / Advantages: 26 / Powers: 232 / Defenses: 14 (425)

-Set/Seth is the legendary Dark God of Egypt that was said to have slain Osiris, resulting in Horus resurrecting his father and battling the God- his vague Animal-shaped head (Giraffe? Jackal? Horse thing?) and he were apparently THE Gods of Upper Egypt, while Ra & Osiris were worshipped in Lower Egypt. When Egypt unified, the Lowers took over, and thus Seth became demonized- this once-worshipped guy was soon relegated to being a monstrous, evil figure. Sucks to be Seth (and I still hate that name- who's next? Chris? John? What kind of a God is named SETH?).

-Seth is an occasional enemy of Thor, generally being the most powerful and evil of all the Heliopolitan Gods- he imprisoned all the others, manipulated the Asgardians from time to time, and he's generally an ass. I've never read one of his appearances, but I figure him as a Pluto/Poseidon-powered guy, who occasionally does stuff to get boosted to Odin level. Most of what I've seen has him fighting Thor in hand-to-hand, so he's not QUITE Skyfather-level. He IS an elite-level manipulator and Summoner, though. Anyone with more info (or powers- no bio site seems to list an awful lot of stuff for him) feel free to pop in, however.

Egyptian mythology is a convoluted mess not helped by the fact that the Egyptians had no problem with it being that way. The convolution actually makes sense when you realize their society lasted a couple thousand years at a time when even if stuff was written down most people couldn't read. Plus the Egyptians didn't have the same hard standard of what the celestial stuff must look like that modern religions have, leading to the modern idea that they saw the animal-headed gods as looking exactly like that when really to the Egyptians that was just a symbolic representation of the god's attributes.

Also I think the reason it's spelled Seth is because in the original Egyptian it was something more like Set-h and then it was the Greeks who changed the "t-h" to a "th".

A huge number of Egyptian gods were gods of the dead, to the point that the Heliopolitans are pretty much all gods of the dead one way or the other, just as the Asgardians are pretty much all warrior-gods one way or the other. The Heliopolitan religion didn't have a god of evil as we'd think of it though; Set was the god of remote and foreboding places (with his sister-wife, Nephthys), and of darkness. (Some scholars debate whether the Egyptians even though of things in terms of good and evil.)

Set gets stuck with "evil" because he killed Osiris, who's generally read as "good" because pharaohs identify with him, but he's also one of the gods who guards the sun god Ra during his nightly journey through the underworld. He also gets demonized because he was the patron of Lower Egypt, which became subject to Upper Egypt; because he's the god of foreigners, who became pretty unpopular after they conquered Egypt; and he also got merged with Apep, the serpent he fought nightly to defend Ra (probably a smear campaign by priests of Horus). Originally Set, like Bast, was a snake-killer, not a snake god. On the other hand, he chopped his brother into pieces and fed his manly bits to a crocodile, so he might not be the nicest of guys.

And that's more than you wanted to know, isn't it?

Thats true, id forgotten how mixed up the Heliopolitans were in the concepts they covered. Anubis was the god of the dead, but so was Osiris, and even Set had some influence as well. Death and after life were such ingrained and expansive concepts in egyptian mythology that it was a pervasive social influence.
