Beleriphon's Character du Jour

This one looks like it's going to be a fun thread to follow! :D

Which reminds me, I need to get back and add to my Animaniacs builds.

Tasmanian Devil

Image

"What for you bury me in the cold, cold ground?"

Power Level: 5 (105 power points)

Abilities: STR 15(+2) DEX 12(+1) CON 18(+4) INT 6(-2) WIS 6(-2) CHA 8(-1)
Size: Medium
Skills: Climb 3 (+5), Notice 3 (+1)
Feats: All-out Attack, Fearless, Fearsome Presence, Improved Grab, Improved Grapple, Improved Overrun, Move-by Action, Power Attack, Rage 2
Powers: Disintegration 5 [E:Action (Standard->Reaction), Linked (Speed, Spinning); F:Range (Ranged->Touch)], Protection 3, Quickness 6 [F:One Task (Eating only)], Regeneration 35 (Total Regeneration), Speed 3 [E:Linked (Spinning, Disintegration)], Spinning 2 [E:Linked (Disintegration, Speed)]
Combat: Attack +5, Defense 12 (Flat-footed: 11), Initiative +1
Grapple: +7 (Attack - +5, Strength - +2, Size - +0)
Saves: Toughness +7(+4), Fortitude +4, Reflex +2, Willpower -2
Lifting: 200 lb.

Complications:
Obsession (eating cartoon animals), Temper (easily aggrivated)

Cost Summary:
Ability 5 + Skills 2 (6 Ranks) + Feats 10 + Powers 78 + Combat 14 + Saves 1 = 110

 Trade-off: -2 Def / +2 Tou
 Here he is the whirling, slobbering monster that is the Tasmanian Devil.
 His spinning disintegration trick is fun, it lets him tear through most normal objects in one or two rounds of contact, and weak objects (like walls) near instantly. As a plus it leaves a tasmanian devil shaped hole as he passes. It also lets him attack people in combat.
 The other neat thing is that he is a profcient grappler, for PL5 at any rate. With Rage he become particular adept at it grappling.
 I'm basing this on the 50s and 60s cartoons, as opposed to the more modern Tasmania where he becomes a functional character instead of a cartoon engine of destruction.
 edit: bolded some text I missed and added a quote from Devil May Hare.

On Taz, why did you go with Disintegration instead of corrison?

Well you have to do Daffy. The Warner Brothers and their sister Dot were always very cool. My favorite though would be Freakazoid.

Mainly because I didn't occur to me to use Corrosion. I'll take a look at to see exactly how it works. Either way he's leaves Tasmanian Devil shaped holes in most stuff.

 Here is, inventor, hunter, super-genius, Wile E Coyote. This version harkens back to the original intention. The lovable loser.
 With his 25 points of equipment and Inventor feat you should be able to come up with all manner of crazy ACME brand contraptions for the crazed coyote to use.
 Edit: Formatting.

And now the Archrival:

The Road Runner

Image

"Meep, meep"

Power Level: 6 (80 power points)
Abilities: STR 6(-2) DEX 20(+5) CON 14(+2) INT 12(+1) WIS 7(-2) CHA 7(-2)

Complications:
Enemy (Wile E Coyote)

Cost Summary:
Ability 6 + Skills 4 (16 Ranks) + Feats 4 + Powers 40 + Combat 26 + Saves 0 = 80

 Trade-off: +4 Def/ -4 Toughness
 This is also known as how to build a Speedster on a budget. The only power that Roadrunner has is that he's fast. The best way to play him is to just continually take double moves, this will net you 500mph. That should cover our real fast road runner.
 To really play a Road Runner/Coyote type game the coyote needs to be the protagonist, so give the Road Runner lots of GM Fiat and flatten the coyote at every opportunity. If you aren't pissing yourself laughing at watching your character get smucked around you aren't playing these two right.

Ability 29 + Skills 16 (64 Ranks) + Feats 4 + Powers 36 + Combat 18 + Saves 7 = 115

 Trade-off: -2 Def/ +2 Toughness
 This is a combo Daffy. He incorporate those early moments of random, and insane, bouncing with a more "sauve" actorly version that he evolved into. His strength ultimately lies in his skills, when teamed up with Bugs he should taking the brunt of the abuse.

Next up:

Porky Pig
Sylvester and Tweety (double bill)
Speedy Gonzales
Foghorn Leghorn
Yosemite Same
Pepe le Pew
and many more...

 Here's Porky. I built him as the penultimate sidekick for the Looney Tunes characters. One his own he's not that tough, but put him with Daffy and you have quite the combo.
 No trade-offs, but at the same time he's not good at anything, but he is m-m-m-m-edo-c-c-c-c, not bad at lots of things.
 I considered giving him Perform (Oratory) at a high rank, but decided against that. He never struck me as speechifying, not like Foghorn Leghorn at any rate.

Nice one. I'd always felt he was actually the long-suffering protagonist of the Road Runner cartoons. If nothing else, you have to admire the guy's tenacity in the face of certain pain :)

Oh, and one issue I noted with Bugs is that if I'm reading his skill list right, he can't make use of his Attractive feats as they apply against the max ranks allowed for skills, and Bugs is already at PL+5 for ranks in Bluff and Diplomacy, making the feat redundent.

Yes, great build. Also, good way to simulate the never-get-hurt thing (and turning the beak back to the front to the back) with the regeneration! I think it made a ton of sense to give Wile E. Coyote a 22 in intelligence. If you've seen the episode where he talks, he's a genius. Great builds, again! You get...hmm...200 cookies!
