Background:
When Wendy was born she was the pride and joy of her parents, all two hundred and seventy six technicians, scientists, geneticists, and lab assistants of the Starkweather Institute. Her cellular structure promised exceptional superhuman abilities and her earliest IQ tests showed her to be a nascent genius. They did not know the true extent of her intelligence or power until her tenth birthday when she broke out of the lab by using her power over physical laws to escape into the world.

Not wanting to associate themselves with building and, from certain legal perspectives, unlawfully detaining a child they let her be. Out in the wide world she had only knew about from lessons on history and politics she found herself without a home or anyplace to go. She eventually managed to forge documents to enroll in school and played the stock market to help support herself. In between the classes she made sure not to excel in and inventing excuses to prevent teachers from meeting her non-existent parents, Wendy decided to use her powers to protect the small, Midwestern city she lived in. Donning a modified one-piece children's bikini and a cape she premiered amidst an attack by several story tall robots. She was able to subdue the mechanical monstrosities and gained fame around the world as the youngest superheroine ever.

However, despite the legions of fans she had garnered, she was always on edge about the other children at school learning about her powers and shunning her for them or adults taking her back to the Starkweather Institute. This paranoia eventually led her to dropping out of school and living in an abandoned tenement building for many years. It was Zhi Lee herself who found her raiding her garbage can one night. They had a brief scuffle which ended with Zhi using her mass shifting powers to subdue the frightened and traumatized young girl.

In what was to be the first of many acts of generosity she brought Wendy into her home and took care of her for many years. It was in fact Wendy who gave Zhi the idea of opening a school for young people with superpowers, to both train them in their use and to give them support. Now she is the default field leader of the Alumni, but she is starting to be upstaged by Ursula Joan Bulter, Xenowoman. As her position of field commander was given to her by Zhi, and coupled with her own insecurities, she has begun to dislike Ursula intensely, feeling that she is taking away something very special to her: the love and attention that Zhi had given to her for so long.

Description:
Wendy Lee is a sixteen year old Caucasian female with blond hair and green eyes. She has a slim, athletic build emphasized by her uniform of a one-piece pink bikini with a stylized silver 'U' on the chest (the same one she wore when she first premiered, modified to fit her larger dimensions) and low-rider blue jeans. She holds her hair in a ponytail or braid when she is in the field and loose when at home.

Hiding her incredible powers well into young-womanhood she eventually escaped from the iron grip of her Aunt Kanza and travelled to Earth, where she uses her powers to protect the innocent as...

With Infinite Womyn, you've somehow managed to create a character with a No Saving Throw enhanced attack that I *like.*

I'm impressed!

Thankyou very much, Sethotes.

I was trying to find a good way of modeling the power to reach into an opponent and mess with their internals. I first tried it with Alternate Save-Fortitude but that doesn't work to well sometimes since there are heroes whose Fort saves are astronomically high. Penetrating wasn't quite in concept (punching through armor as opposed to completely bypassing it).

Then UP came out with the No Saving Throw extra and I was saved.

Background:

It was on a rural highway that the girl who would become Ursula Joan Butler was found by Deputy Sheriff George Butler. He took her in and found that while she had no memory of who she was or where she came from, that she knew virtually nothing about popular culture or history, but she did have an incredible knowledge of the English language. With permission from the state George and Miriam Butler adopted the girl, giving their son a sibling after trying for so long. Ursula and Jake didn't get along, because Jake resented having a stranger come into his home and receiving great attention and support from his parents (it didn't help that he was going through an emotional crisis of his own).

On one night beneath a full moon her parents told her they were going out to visit friends and that she should stay home that evening. Being curious as to what they were up to (they had been secretive and untalkative that entire day) she disobeyed them for the first time and followed them out. She finally found them in a clearing, deep in the forest. They were there with several other people in a great circle around a bonfire. She saw one woman waving a knife about in the air as each member of the circle passed a young baby around. She knew little about many things, but she knew that knives and newborns don't mix. With barely a thought of consideration Ursula dashed into the congregation and snatched the baby out of the woman's hands, running off with the wailing child into the night. When they finally caught up with her they got her to calm down and explained that they were performing a neo-pagan ritual to bless the newborn child. Deeply embarrassed, both for herself and for her parents who were reprimanded by their friends for not explaining this to her before, she made the decision then to learn as much about this mysterious part of the human experience as she could.

It was on her sixteenth birthday that Ursula's life was to change forever. Waking up early to help her mother start breakfast, Ursula looked into the mirror and didn't recognize the creature looking back at her. It was grey skinned with strange eyes and an elongated cranium. She found that she could return to human at will and so informed her family of this strange ability. They helped and supported her (including her brother whose earlier hostility had lessened) as she learned just what she could do in her alien form. It was stronger and much, much faster than her human body, it could breath underwater indefinitely and she could use the long finger-like toes of her feet as well as her hands.

It was nearly a month after this that Ursula would come into conflict with the man who would be her life long enemy: the Man with Blue Eyes. In the town where Ursula lived there was a middle-aged pastor by the name of Kevin Dupont. Kevin and Ursula knew each other well and had many spirited debates about the nature of the soul, especially after she learned that she may not be human. Kevin's church was failing and would have to be closed down at the end of the month and there was nothing he could do to stop it. In a moment of deep pain and bitterness, Kevin called out, not to god, but to any force that could give him the power to stop this from happening. In some way he did not expect an answer, but he got one. In his mind's eye he saw a pair of luminous blue eyes appear before him and they spoke to him.

"I shall give you the power you seek, but you must pledge yourself to me. You must pledge to spread MY word to people. Good is not powerful, it is not dominant, it is not the work of any god you know. Evil is the face of God in the world and it is His will that man do evil. If to do good was his will then would it not be done? If goodness and kindness was the natural way of the world then why is it so weak? It is evil that controls this world, it always has. Tell the people this. Show them the power of evil. You shall bring the first commandment of my way to the world: DESTROY!"

It was with that word that Kevin Dupont was turned into the first Disciple of Evil, the Detroyer. Kevin's new form erupted with dark power destroying his beloved church and he began a rampage across the town, howling the gospel of destruction. Ursula, knowing that only she would have even the slightest chance against him, fought against the Destroyer. It was only through a bit of luck involving a tanker truck and a broken pipeline that Kevin was stopped before he could reach the center of town. The Department of Supernormal Activities took the Destroyer to the super-prison, Wolf Island, leaving Ursula to contemplate her fate.

Fate answered her in a letter from Headmistress Zhi Lee of the Lee Academy for Higher Training.

Description:
In her human form Ursula is a tall and slimly built teenage girl with silver-gray hair to mid thigh (though usually in elaborate braids and buns to keep it out of the way) and gray eyes. She favors loose clothing with clashes of color and patterns with a long charm necklace with with several religious symbols (crosses and crucifixes, Stars of David, ankhs, among many others).

In her alien form she stands well over six feet tall, her hair turns white and hangs at about waist length like a horse's mane, her skin turning to a silvery-grey color. Her fingers and toes become extremely elongated and gain extra joints; she finds it much more comfortable to walk on the balls of her feet in this form. On either side of her head she sprouts an extra set of eyes that can look independently of each other, like a chameleon's; they are very large and are black in color with deep read irises. As if to compensate for them her cranium elongates and forms gill like structures underneath to allow liquid breathing.

EDIT 3/29/09: Added a better thought out background and character description.

Sorry that I don't post as often as I like but seeing as how most of the characters I have posted are my own creations I have started to feel a little narcissistic. So to rectify this situation I am taking any build requests that you the viewer may have. Be it an insanely obscure character or a mainstream character from the Big Two (or Three?) I am ready willing and able to provide.

Would you accept crossover characters (guys from one series that have another character's powers)? I have a few ideas in mind, but I had to know.
Bad guy looks at small pistol by PC. Bad guy makes pistol with fingers.
Bad guy-¿"Bang"?.
PC shakes head gravely.
PC (quiet voice)-"Boom".
PC pulls trigger.
Bad guy gets vaporized.

There's some pretty crazy ideas in there-and more coming, I might add.

(And if you ever want to, just PM me a petition for an art and I'll get it for you, no problem).

Wonder Girl Rei

Post by MisterO » Sun Feb 22, 2009 10:04 pm

When the barriers between Earth and the Underworld were breached by Man's folly, the Amazons began the march to war. The leader's of patriarch's world pleaded with them for peace, and the Amazons relented. In thanks, and to keep the Amazon nation occupied, they gave them what Themyscira's queen had always wanted: a daughter.

The girl learned all the arts of the Amazon: martial and spiritual. They named her Theta and she was crowned as princess on her sixteenth birthday. She asked her mother one gift, her heart's desire: to know where she came from...*

This character was inspired by marcoasalazarm's artwork over at DeviantArt. It depicts Rei Ayanami of Evangelion fame in Wonder Woman's costume. The background just wrote itself from there!

Update Slightly re-worked version of one of marcosalazarm's requested heroines.

James "Logan" Howlett here has become something of a character creation touchstone for different uses of Container. My build takes some of it's inspiration from Taliesin's build. You'll notice that in the Healing Factor Container I gave him a half-Immunity to lethal damage. I felt this was a good succinct way of portraying his nigh-unkillability. His super-senses I built as being Enhanced Notice limited to sounds and smells.

The main point of this build was to make a Wolverine that wasn't impossible to beat in less than four rounds. So I graded down his regeneration abilities and gave him a total of +9 damage with his claws.

Update 1: Feral Container altered to actually work. Thank you JoshuaDunlow for pointing that out!

Update 2: Added a picture by Gabriel Dell'Otto and cleaned up the Feats section so they were in alphabetical order among other formatting alterations for readiblity.

Update 3: Overhaul! I've learned a lot of about building characters since posting Wolvy and I wanted to better this early effort.

Enhanced Trait 4 (Traits: Notice +16, Flaws: Limited to scents and sounds -1)
I did want to point out just one thing, your Notice Bonus. Your still limited by Power Level limits with skills. As is its right now, your maximum Base Rank before modifier is 16 (and you already have 8 ranks in your skill). So your already paying to much for a bonus you can't take full advantage of.
However if you changed the Trait to Wisdom, your maximum wisdom score could be 42 (allowing you to milk out a higher bonus modifer in the long run).

Otherwise a great wolverine build.
