Earth 2150

Image

The Alien race commonly known as the Symbiotes has invaded earth, causing massive choas around the world as the Symbiotes infect, kill and capture all human beings in there path. With a death toll now in perhaps the billions S.H.E.I.L.D, S.W.O.R.D. and the super human population have finally managed to start to dig in and plan counter tactics back while protecting what remains of the civilian population. That is not to say the think they can win or that they have a solid plan yet, but they are getting dug in.

Congrats heroes you are the first line of defense in this world of horrors.

Rules:
PL 9 135pp, PL:PP trade off allowed per standard rules.

Earth 2150 has a much lower power level than 616, as such heroes are less powerful that there main stream counter parts. Perhaps why things have gotten so bad.

Number of players: 4-8

All Flesh Must be Eaten game style. This means I will and in fact plan to kill PCs. Now I have no intention of coming after anyone in particular, but I plan for this to be a deadly game, expect lethal damage. By the end I would like to have 4 or less surviving players. Don't take it hard if I kill you, its part of the game plus I swear to let you roleplay your death as you see fit. However if your gone from the game for an extended period with out saying something to me your death may come quickly.

This is not to say I'm going to end the game with a cast of dead characters if you all somehow survive the deadly combats I'm not going to drop a safe on you just to kill you.

Also if you see a point at witch you want to roleplay your death and really play it up tell me and we'll do it.

You may make your own character totally new, a character from the Marvel Verse or your own version of a character from the normal marvel universe, with what ever deviations you see fit.
If you make a character that is supposed to be closely based off the main stream universe your better off trading off a PL for extra points than trying to cheat for points.
The following characters can not be used:
Peter Parker, Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Venom, Carnage, Nick Furry, Professor X, Thor, Captain America, Dr. Strange, Kitty Pride. Some of these are for no particular reason. Some of these are for no reason other than I said so.
Other than Venom and Carnage the other symbiotes or a original symbiote may be made with a decent back story.

Luck is restricted to one rank, unless your a luck based character.

No true full restrictions on powers but I tend to dislike Variable powers, anything with extream flexibility or the ability to walk threw walls. The more strait forward your build is the more likely I am to like it.

Depending on how the game goes this may be a one shot adventure or a series a few stories. This game is going to be highly experimental for me so give me some room to breath.

Sounds intriging....

Hmmmmm
I could go for Fire-Star maybe.... or possibly a villian seeing joining forces as the only option for survival.

Then again, I do have alot on my plate.... hmmm, So Not sure yet....lets see who else chime in.

Very interested! Since you mentioned originial symbiotes being ok, I think that's what I'll be submitting...no solid ideas yet, but definitely expressing interest.

Very interested and I look forward to being the first kill! I even have an idea in mind of who I would want to play, seeing as how I have TONS of builds I would love to test out.

How often are you expecting us to post? Are we using Invisible Castle for rolling? Do you want specifics on our characters now or later?

Hmmm. This one intrigues me.

I am going to think on concepts. Either a Marvel character or one based on some kinda Old School Marvel stuff.

Oooo. This sounds like a interesting game. I'll see what I can come up with. Most likely an original character of somekind.

I'm interested in this. Thinking of two character concepts ... let me know if you have a preference, otherwise I'll choose one and stat it.

Concept 1: The Ghoul

An Arabic-American with a Batman-like history: his parents were killed before his eyes by a flesh-eating demon, which also took a bite out of him before he was rescued by the police. He grew up with some of the powers (and vulnerabilities) of his erstwhile assailant, and took on its name and countenance to hunt murderers in the urban desert. Powers would be enhanced strength and resilience, claws & bite, wall-crawling and creeping, acute sense of smell and ability to sense nearby or impending death, and possibly regeneration or resurrection. He would also have a dependence on eating carrion and a vulnerability to religious symbols and places.

Concept 2: The Fatalist

Think Rambo meets Robocop meets Berem, The Everman (from Dragonlance). A sometime soldier, government agent, and later freelance mercenary, he has seen most of the major wars of the past 30 years - both the public and the secret ones. Most of his major organs have succumbed to knives, bullets, shrapnel, or just age, and been replaced with the latest in bionic enhancements. He is more machine than man now (where have I heard that before?), and life has lost its taste, but his training will not let him lie down and die. He waits for the next battle with grim determination, professional indifference to who or what he will be fighting ... and hope. Hope that this one, finally, will be the last.

Ok, here's a concept that I've made, and entered successfully into a couple of games that sadly never got off the ground. I really liked the concept and the build and really want her to see some action.

Basically Doc Ock style tentacles with some sonic based powers. For this version I've traded down to PL 8 for and extra 15pp. Here she is.

Banshee

Katie Starrs was an only child, brought for most of her life by her father after her mother died in a car accident while she was still young. Even as a little girl, she had one dream, to sing, one day to perform in front millions, her voice heard across the world. It was an ambitious dream for anyone, and despite her talented voice, it was a dream she thought beyond her grasp, and best forgotten. But at when she was 22, her father died after a 3 year battle with cancer. Before he died however, he asked her to promise him that she wouldn’t forget her dream, that the world shouldn’t be denied his daughters voice. And promise she did.

True to her word, she pursued her passion with renewed dedication. First by taking singing lessons to iron out the faults in her voice, after all, she had to be perfect if she was going to make it. She then sung whether she could, chores, clubs, eventually getting herself a regular gig singing on stage at a high class casino in Las Vegas. It was there that she attracted the attention of a promoter after he’d heard her perform. He promised to make her big, her dream would come true. She eagerly watched as preparations were made, and songs were written. She practised and rehearsed for her premiere show that would make her a star. Sadly she never made it to the concert. The plane that was taking her to New York, where the concert was being held, crashed part way through the flight.

The crashed left her body crippled and her mind in a coma. She dedicated herself so fully to her singing, that she had made few lasting friends. With no one to visit or weep for her, she was just a piece of meat waiting to die, until a scientist saw her as the perfect subject for a military weapons program. Much of her body was reconstructed, and the project was as successful as it’s leaders could have hoped. Her brain was still heavily damaged, and though consciousness was returned to her, she had no memory of her life before the accident, though she rediscovered her love of singing.

Much of her body has been replaced by cybernetics, including all her limbs, her spine and much of her face and skull, and what hasn’t been replaced is kept in condition by nanomachines within her body. Her body is encased in an armoured shell, ever inch of her that has not been cut away and replaced is covered. When in the field she wears a masked helmet, a simple black surface, with five small LEDs where her eyes should be and a seam where the lower half of her face opens up. A sonic generator takes up much of where her throat once resided, usually hidden behind a false jaw and mouth, which opens out when the weapon is used. A number of smaller emitters are dotted all over her body and limbs. Four retractable metal tentacles extend from her back, each ending in a bladed claw.

Complications:
Most of her body has be replaced with cybernetics
She has no memories of her old life

OK here's my build.

The Ghoul
Real Name: Unknown
Concept:
PL 9, 135 pp

Image

An Arabic-American with a Batman-like history: his parents were killed before his eyes by a flesh-eating demon, which also took a bite out of him before he was rescued by the police. He grew up with some of the powers (and vulnerabilities) of his erstwhile assailant, and took on its name and countenance to hunt murderers in the urban desert.

Abilities: Strength 22, Dexterity 14, Constitution 22, Intelligence 10, Wisdom 12, Charisma 8

Combat: Attack 4 (7 melee), Damage 6 (unarmed / 11 with Strike), Defense 5 / 7 with dodge / 3 flatfooted, Initiative 10, Grapple 15, Knockback 5

Saving Throws: Toughness 11, Fortitude 2 (8), Reflex 6 (8), Will 6 (7)

Skills: Climb 5 (11), Acrobatics 8 (10), Stealth 10 (12), Notice 9 (10), Sense Motive 6 (7), Survival 4 (5), Bluff 6 (5), Gather Information 6 (5), Intimidate 13 (12), Languages 1 (base English, Arabic)

Feats: All-out Attack, Attack Focus (melee) 3, Dodge Focus 2, Improved Critical (strike) 2, Improved Initiative 2, Move-by Action, Power Attack, Takedown Attack 1, Uncanny Dodge (olfactory), Fearless, Instant Up, Startle, Fast Intimidate (from MaMa: Intimidate as a move action with no penalty), Mass Intimidation (from MaMa: penalty for multiple subjects is only -2)

Powers:

Strike 5 (bite or claws; PFs: incurable, mighty)
Super-Strength 2
Protection 5 (resilience of partially demonic physiology)
Regeneration 12 (bruised or injured no action, disabled 1 hour)
Immunity 6 (critical hits, suffocation, disease, poison, all limited: half effect [-1])
Super-Senses 4 (acute olfactory sense; tracking - olfactory; ranged detect death - olfactory)
Super-Movement 1 (wall-crawling; alternate power: leaping 2)
Speed 2

Drawbacks & Complications:

Drawback: Weakness (must eat human carrion at least once per week; uncommon, minor) -1
Complication: Secret (most people do not know that The Ghoul is actually, well, a ghoul; he keeps this secret for obvious reasons)

The Math: Abilities 28 + Skills 17 + Feats 19 + Combat 18 + Saving Throws 14 + Powers 40 - Drawbacks 1 = 135

Notes:

The way that "ranged detect death - olfactory" is supposed to work is that he can smell it whenever someone has recently died or is soon going to die. It applies both to the place he's in and the people he's with, e.g. if someone is not long for this world, he can literally smell the scent of death on them.

I got a good idea for this one. A winged lighting/wind manipulator.

Thinking of PL8 - 150pp with trade offs Attack/Damage +2/-2 , Defence/Toughness +2/-2.

Thinking of PL8 - 150pp with trade offs.

Charecter name will be either Hell Hound or Devil Dog.

Basic ablities of hellfire control with some super speed, enhanced senses, regn, claws and a fear factor. I am currently working on the background and will try and finish the charecter build tonight or tomorrow.

I'm thinking a retired Major in the Royal Army equipped with twin gauntlets, which are explosive tipped bolt rounds and twin claws. About 40 years old, and an accomplished warrior.

Great to see I have so much interest. For the record players should not expect that the symbiotes to have the traditional fire and sonic weakness. Noticed a few players with sonic and fire based poweres and figured I should point that out.

Everything sounds good so far, though I'm hoping Shadow13's character is not actually a dog cause that ain't going to work.
