I loved robotech when I first saw it. I don't know much about the japanese version called Macross. I used the palladium Robotech Rpg and the robotech technical files website as a guide for conversion. I used a minimalist approach since I didn't want too much detail. I only wanted to cover the basics. I'm planning on building most of the Zentraedi Mecha and vehicles from the show. First up is the iconic mech with ostrich legs.

Notes: This is the main trooper mecha used by the zentraedi. It has a lot of specialized variants. It is highly Fast and well armed. Its main weakness is its low armor. However this is of little consequence as they are meant as cannon fodder. Notice the lack of a ejector seat. They are fielded and destroyed in large numbers. A red shirt mecha if I ever saw one.

Notes: This is the most common variant of the regular Regult BattlePod that was seen. One out twelve Regults were one of these. The laser guns on top of the mecha is replaced by light missile launchers. The mech is meant for close in fire support. Also note that the awkward placing off the missile launchers imposed a 50% drop in its top speed. However this means little in mechanics so I didn't stat it up.

Notes: This variant is the second most common variant to the regult. One out of twenty four regults were composed of this mecha. It also replaces the top laser guns for heavier, longer ranged, and fewer missiles.
This variant usually hangs back far to the rear providing long range fire support. It also acts as a anti-air unit.

It is unknown how many of this variant there are. They are utilized on a case by case mission.

Notes: This mecha is reserved solely for the elite officers. It is an improvement over the regular regult mecha in almost every way. It is faster, tougher, and has better weapons. In addition it actually has arms to allow it limited physical melee combat. Still notice that even officers are not that valued too highly. There is still no ejector seat! This mecha is the third rarest mecha. Around one out of 100 Regults are composed of this mecha. They are usually piloted by ace officers leading packs of other mecha. Khyron the main villain of the robotech series pilots this mecha.

Notes: The Eldare is basically a armored jacket that turned the Glaug mecha into a fighter. A missile launcher is added for more firepower. In addition escape thrusters are added to allow the Glaug to leave the atmosphere into outer-space. The only drawback is that the Glaug cannot use its legs until the jacket is jettisoned. This modification was made to add versatility to the Glaug. It also allowed the Glaug to enter and leave the battlefield without the use of a dropship transport. The Eldare was rarely used since it was a test concept.

Notes: This power armor was reserved for male use only. It's actually quite inferior to the Regult battlepod in some ways. Its slower and less powerful than the Regult. Though it is more agile and better armored. The main reason for its use is that it is one of the few Zentraidi Mecha to have hands. For this reason it is usually used in exploration and construction uses. This mecha is the second rarest mecha. Only one out of 200 regults are made up of these mecha.

Notes: This mecha was the most feared one of all by any RDF pilot! It is solely for use by the elite and highly skilled female ace officers. This mecha is the epitome of Zentraedi mecha design. It is a match or (even superior) to the Valkyrie mecha. It is fast, maneuverable, and well armored. Its lack of power is made up by its accuracy.

It has two pieces of equipment of note not available to any other mecha.
Its inertial dampener(environmental optimization) protects the pilot from high g maneuvers.
While its high speed focusing sight (optical tracking) allows for superb accuracy.

Thankfully for the RDF it is the rarest of all Zentraedi Mecha. Only one out of one thousand Regults was ever made. Unfortunately the Queadlum-Rau was usually deployed in groups together. Making their numbers seem higher than they really were. These mecha were used as hunter killer commandos that specifically targeted enemy aces. I don't want to spoil anything but one of the main heroes of robotech ended up being mortally wounded by one! :shock: Miriya (first a villain then strangely enough a hero later) piloted this mecha.

Notes: This Zentraedi conventional fighter was used as a interceptor. It was also used to escort dropships when entering the atmosphere. It is relatively comparable to a Valkyrie Mecha in fighter mode.
It was uncommon compared to the Regult. Four of these were seen for every 100 Regults.

I guess that's it for now. I hope I did robotech some justice with my builds. I really have no clue on how to do those miles long Zentraedi warships so I may never convert them. I may try the destroids and other vehicles in the future though. :wink: If you want stats for the Zentraedi dropship just simply use the space shuttle stats as a stopgap measure.

There's really no point in building the valkyries since Mecha and manga already has stats for something like one.

I hope this thread has been useful to fellow robotech fans.
