Re: Why do superhero novels suck

Two superhero novels that don't suck are Elliott S! Maggin's Superman novels Last Son of Krypton and Miracle Monday . Not only are they entertaining stories (Einstein involved in Kal-el's arrival on Earth!), but Maggin does a really great job, IMO, of making a lot of the tropes from the comics work...

Re: Earth 2: World's End

Ugh. They can barely keep up with monthly titles; now they're going to start springing weeklies? Great.

Re: Atlas of Earth-Prime: The USA

There's a big problem with this this Atlas of Earth-Prime; I want a 3e Freedom City sourcebook, around 500 pages, and I want it yesterday!!! (Sssshhh, I know I'm delusional, but allow me this indulgence for a few moments more...) Seriously, I loved the first issue and eagerly look forward to more. T...

I can't justify spending money for myself in these leans times when I need to save for Christmas gifts. But December 26 will be here before you know it

Re: Brian Singer unveils his new Sentinel

I think Fox is pumping out X-movies as fast as they can so they can keep the film license, which I'm sure Disney would love to put in their portfolio.

Re: Emerald City Is Here!

A freedom universe atlas pdf series is already on the drawing board for next year. That's awesome, where is the info for this that I completely missed? It was revealed as the next pdf series in the last Vigilance Press podcast. These kinds of announcements should stop being things that only appear ...

Re: Green Lantern: Lights Out

Yeah, this story was dumb in that late Star Trek:TNG "warp speed is damaging space - thinly veiled enviro-kookiness" kinda way. As I was reading this storyline, I repeatedly asked myself "when was the last time you enjoyed a Lantern comic that wasn't Red?" and promptly cancelled all my light-weildin...

Re: DC's Forever Evil

Just the main mini-series and the titles I regularly get that are crossing over (the JLs, Teen Titans). Not going in for the related minis (Rogues, Arkham, ARGUS). I've always liked the Crime Syndicate as villains, and they seem pretty amped up. Also, its good to see Black Adam back on the page agai...

Re: Need help with 2e PDFs

A fair chunk of those 2e archetypes are 3e-ified as stock heroes in Hero Lab for M&M.

Re: DC Comics: Say No to Marriage

Well, I for one think Batwoman could have used a little micromanagement. I collected the new 52 reboot of Batwoman for 2 years, and Kate asking Maggie to get married was the only forward movement by the character AT ALL. Two years in and she's battling the same villain, solving the same mystery...ot...

Re: Using 2nd Edition archetypes on 2nd edition character sh

You can still get the M&M 2e pack for Hero Lab. Not only will it make creating those characters easier in general, the archetypes are already in as stock heroes; you'd just have to add the heroes' and players' names and any minor tweaks they want and you're ready to rock.
