Re: Emerald City Is Here!

I found two clear errors in the Sentinels, look at the final cost of the alien and kid robot and you'll see it does not read: 150 pp, it reads much more but they add up to 150.

Re: Emerald City Is Here!

What is the idea behind the Emerald City map? It seems to be an abstract map. I see blow ups of sections with just enough detail to give the GM some idea of description. I like the Freedom City map approach more, and hope with Freedom City 3e we get that map, perhaps even enhanced and 'upgraded'. Pl...

Re: Emerald City Is Here!

Ok, I bought it and I can answer this question for myself. You get all the hero lab files for all the character npcs for ECK (46 characters); with players pdf you get the sentinels herolabs; with secrets you get 48 herolab files, all npc's from the pdf. You get a pdf of the map. Thank you Foreshadow...

Re: Emerald City Is Here!

What comes with the Emerald City pdf's. There is the adventure, the players guide and the GM's 'secrets' book, but I assume there is one for the map or is that only separate for the printed version. Then we have characters that have been done with Hero Lab. I know that Jon and others use Hero Lab an...

Re: How would a Force Field Work?

That is what Feature and Quirk are for. If you wanted to make Webbing with a higher toughness once its dry, that is not an Extra, but rather a Feature, your buying up one aspect of a power, the toughness to escape the snare. To lower the area of a Created forcefield essentially make it smaller would...

Re: Destroying a galaxy... LOL

Well damage 35 can do some planet busting damage, so a whole galaxy I'd say some where in the range of 45 damage? no more than Damage 50, and it could be like Damage 40 or 42. First, by 'destroy' what do you mean? Atomize? how about black holes? do you mean blink out of existence? Realize Death coul...

Re: Ronin Roundtable: Ten Years of Freedom

I would like to see the Rookery, and perhaps have Raven have a sidekick which can be a player character. In other words a Costumed Adventurer assumed to have the role filled by a player.

Re: Thrown into the sun damage / Heat level Damage

The gadgets guide states a nuke is rank 20 and a really big one is rank 30 and the sun essentially blasts nuclear energy off its surface and that surface is nothing compared to the center of its heat level, isn't it like millions of degrees which is at least rank 30. rank 26 is 1.6 m and 30 is 25 mi...

Re: Super Powers Wiki

Who is Jessica Jones? Is that like Jean Grey. Whomever made some of these heroes up back in the day, I don't get why they come up with names, and then for a couple characters just say they have a persons name. Like if a hero were named Billy Hamilton and that is his actual team name. Rick Jones you ...

Re: Exponential vs Logarithmic Scale

I thought about using something like a Strength challenge, and allowing Athletics to work its way into how to do a more grandular system. Strength is 4 which is 800 lbs but reaches all the way up to 1500 so the challenge is lifting between 800 and 1500 based on the roll you make and DC you hit. Just...

Re: Exponential vs Logarithmic Scale

All I meant was when I look at DC Heroes and the chart they have it fits fairly well with the way 3e's chart looks.

I was just seeing if others have played around with an approach that is more logarithmic.

Re: Exponential vs Logarithmic Scale

I don't know if your just clarifying, trying to lay the foundation for an argument, or what Monolith? That is pretty much all correct, what you said. Though if you look at 2e you'll see that there is a layering of exponential and logarithmic combined, much more like HERO seems to be. Every 5 points ...

Re: Emerald City Is Here!

Ok then, is there a bit of info like I'm asking in the setting where that origin question is addressed weaving characters into a more traditional comic book city and then used in ECK?

That would be the best place for it.

Exponential vs Logarithmic Scale

3e is exponential, and essentially is a continuation of DC Heroes for the most part. I hear how DC (exponential) has a different scale than Marvel (logarithmic). I suppose that difference is summed up between exponential and logarithmic. You can have a system where you get a bit of both, and I think...
